They walk among us...

We have a mouse problem at work

They've called in the exterminator but even after a month of his efforts, I've still killed three under my desk with my own traps - you can imagine how popular that makes me with the building manager who's trying to convince people that the situation is under control...

Today I had a conversation about it with a colleague (a grown woman in her 50's) who said "Wait 'till they find the rats".

There is no evidence of rats that I'm aware of, so I replied "Sorry?".

Her response was a knowing look as she imparted her wisdom.

"Kittens come from cats. Mice come from rats".

I was a good boy and just smiled, nodded and walked off.

Even after thinking about linguistic possibilities that might allow me to view her in a better light for the remainder of the day, I'm left with an inescapable conclusion.

Logic has never been infallible but in a broad sense the conditions for mice to thrive are the same for rats ,perhaps you need bigger traps LOL

A large mouse does resemble a small rat to the casual onlooker

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

So, who was right?
Of course they're both right. The 7 bright wanderers across he stars that the ancients named "Planets" were the sun, the moon, mercury, venus, mars, Jupiter and Saturn.Definitions have changed a bit since then though.

I originally posted this true story from my dad on here a few years back but it'll stand a re-telling.
He and a group of mates had booked into a cottage in Ireland for a week that they were going to use as a base for fishing.
They had gone over on the ferry, they had driven from the coast to the centre of Ireland near Belturbot and they were tired and the maps were no longer making at great deal of sense.
They knew that they were in the right general area but couldn't find the cottage.
Que the local Garda (Policeman) who was only to happy to help when they asked for directions.
When asked, he immediately confirmed that he knew the cottage that they'd booked.
When asked for directions he said (use your best Irish accent) "Sure, you'll just need to drive down this road and when you get to the junction after the bridge you turn (and at this point, he paused, held up both hands in front of his face and made a little writing motion with his right hand) right".

At least he didn't say "Oh, you don't want to be starting from here"
