Charity shop curiousity

Saw this today in one of the many charity shops in Whitstable. The rod and reel looks like it has a H gate gear shift.

Blimey the price isnt very charitable, one of those little fads that occur now and again by people who have never fished in the uk.

Intrepid (curse them) brought out boxed rod/reel sets obviously bought cheap from somewhere ....boy they were crap ,ok even crappier!

Never seen or heard of that rod/reel before. Very strange 

I think I heard on the film that the lever type control on the top (or bottom) was a range control or something like that.

Nice thing to have on a shelf in your fishing shed, but I don’t think I would ever use it in earnest on the bank though.

US postage is weird ,i wanted a 6" rule for photograping coins,it was about £6 and the seller demanded £78 ? (It was some time ago) go post it to here ,its as if they dont want to do business ,living in the land of the free doesn't include the postal service why do they put up with it? They go on about how great america is but appear to have laws forbidding them to do evefything and goons with guns backing it up even fricking park keepers have them lol

I was having trouble with reflections trying to get the photo bright enough ,i dont need it now i bought a ringlight i must have found 50 such rings ,some are pretty poor silver as you can see.

I used to photograph them before dropping a bag of them off at our local ghetto ,the odd one used to disappear  from light fingered staff so the guy who gave me permission knew exactly what i dropped off! No problem with coinage i could keep it all but it was well hidden by ring pulls and foil which strangely he didnt want lol

Nothing wrong with oddities so long as you dont think they will improve over time tested gear .
