It's interesting what people were prepared to say under oath (given the consequences of lying to congress) and what they indicated they were prepared to disclose in a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility), about what they know.

I've been watching the crazy stories coming out of Peru, where the locals are reportedly being attacked by seven foot tall, armoured floating aliens.

I'd pretty much ruled it out as a typical silly season story, until the official explanation came out - illegal gold miners with jet-packs.

By BS-o-meter hit 11 at that point. I don't know if it's pesky space aliens, but I know that explanation is spectacularly silly.
