Just been down to Wootton Creek, Mullet everywhere, came in yesterday apparently.

 

Some nice sized ones there.

 

I certainly wont be fishing for them though.

went to the jetties on the crouch last night looking for mullet marks, but saw none.

Loads of thins around the Itchen and Hamble. One or two bigger fish around, that might be thicks..

 

..but nobody's had one out yet..

Matt Baldwin - Medway mullet Club:

 

Few more weeks and they should be in, in there numbers.

The temperature at Sun Pier today was just 9.7C Matt.

 

It needs to improve a bit on that before I start getting too excited.

3.5 tonnes of Golden Greys were taken by seine net from a large shoal off Newquay recently.

 

They fetched 30p per kilo and the netters then complained it hadn't been worth catching them!

 

'Twas probably a regional spawning congregation so a few marks might be short of fish this coming season and beyond now.
