Nice shoal of mullet in Bury Port harbour might have a go Friday evening as the tides are good then.

you wanna hope the pair trawlers in the sw approaches did not scoop a lot them up with the bass shaols during the winter sam, im convinced a lot of our mullet spawn in the same places and times, lets hope not eh,

I think the mullet are safe from the pair trawlers as they only work offshore. The bass are offshore feeding on sprats/scad/mackerel, whereas the mullet have to stay inshore to feed.

Toerag, I think the problem is when the mullet go offshore to breed, using the same areas as the bass.

I think the reason the mullet are in such large numbers in my harbour is that they are totally protected from nets along with bass & sea trout!
