Now that doesn't surpise me! What are you agreeing to though, the objection to my use of heavy braid or is it it's sporting qualities? I'm stragely curious, please enlighten me?

Bahia Honda crawls with big sharks, I had my first tarpon trip there and they were all over the place, mainly bulls and hammerheads. My second tarpon, about 60lbs was bitten in two by a hammerhead at the side of the boat, not a great place to wade!

that bahia honda was where we came to fish on the sand for the stingrays and caught snappers and i think it was either you or billy got the bonnethead shark.

I dont know what BoatsMiami was agreeing to you`d have to ask him. My point was that the braid at 80lb is a vast overkill on a rod that connot put anything close to that sort of pressure.

Stan, I discussed this with Scopex. And I think what he says is that he uses it for its abration resistence, in order to get the fish out of structure.
