Hello Bob,

What is the best bait for slabs? We fish a pool about 2 to 3 acres and on sweet corn I only catch skimmers about 1lb-2lb but have some nice roach and rudd now and again.

Thanks, from Ash

Hello Ash,

The best bait for bream is redworm or red maggots and use some chopped worm in your groundbait.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I was wondering if spares are still available for the Syntec Competition pole, I have contacted several Browning stockists and they say that the pole and spares are no longer available but the pole is only a year old!?

Thanks for your help, Dave Lozman

Hello Dave,

E mail our head office at info-uk@zebco-europe.com or telephone: 01257 224240.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I fish using eyed hooks, but would love to know how to tie a spade hook where would I be able to get information on knot tying. I have just recently started reading angling times; do they publish illustrations on this subject?

Regards, Wayne

Hello Wayne,

Tying hooks is impossible to learn from books, you need to watch someone on the bank and ask them to show you how.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

You have a browning black magic II, you suggest buying second hand, would I be buying someone’s pole that could be cracked – Cracks that I would not see? The browning black magic 3 is out now it sells at about £285, would this not be a better purchase, this will be my second pole, I am just looking for a good improvement on my first very cheap pole.

Thanks, Peter

Hello Peter,

I also have a Black Magic 111 it is a very good pole, go and check it out to see if it is suitable for your use.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

How can I buy a Bob Nudd feeder?

Cheers, Hennie

Hello Hennie,

Contact our head office at info-uk@zebco-europe.com they will give you the address of your nearest dealer.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd

Dear Bob,

I am new to fishing and at the moment and I am borrowing my friends pole, what would be a good starter pole for me to buy up to about £200.00 also what tips would you give to a newcomer, I spend a lot of time visiting fisheries and just watching matches but these people use lots of different baits and rigs that I don’t quite understand, what do you recommend?

Yours sincerely, Richard Hearne

Hello Richard,

The best pole that Browning have in this price range is the Syntec Lethal Weapon. It is 13mtrs long and is supplied with two extra kits. It can be confusing as there are many different styles you can use to catch fish. This is just a part of the learning curve which is needed to make a good angler.

Good fishing, Bob Nudd

Hi Bob,

I have got a competition coming up next week and it is easier to catch bream instead of carp so, can you tell me what groundbaits to buy and mix and what to add to them?

Thanks, Daniel

Hello Daniel,

Van Den Eynde Bream and Brown Crumb, and then add chopped worm and caster to the mix.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

Where can I get a mono pult from, I have looked everywhere?

Thanks, Michael

Hello Michael,

Try going to one of the big shows like the NEC they always seem to be there.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

Can you help me I was wondering on how to get into match fishing because I enjoy fishing and would like to be recognised for my efforts and hopefully become a professional angler?

P.S What bait is you’re favourite when fishing matches?

Thanks a lot, Matt Ross-Harper

Hello Matt,

You have to be successful at the style of fishing you prefer, once you have achieved this success you will then have the opportunity to find a sponsor. This is not easy and may take some time, be patient. I do not have favourite bait it just depends what I am fishing for.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I like to go roach fishing on lakes and canals, and was going to ask what is the best approach for you, and what tackle would you use?

Thanks, Stefan

Hello Stefan,

Fish with light tackle and use maggots or casters on the hook.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I was just wondering, how do you have all your rigs already made up in your box with all the different lines and hooks, as I want to be able to go to a match and pick out the right rig without making up new rigs, whilst also having spares if I get snapped, or rigs if I need to swap if the conditions change?

Thanks a lot, James

PS – Have you ever fished at Lakeview fisheries – landyke lane? If so what do you think is the best way to fish it?

Hi James,

I check where I am fishing and then make up rigs to suit, always make up spares leave the line over length as you can never always be certain on the depth that you will be fishing. You will find that you will gradually build up a collection to suit most occasions.

I am not sure if I have fished Lakeview or not I seem to fish so many different venues it’s difficult to remember them all.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Dear Bob,

Having just purchased an aggressor sting 12.5m pole I am inquiring how much a spare 4th section is. I am doing this because on my second trip with the pole I lost this section in the venue due to the wind blowing it in. The water is very deep at around 30ft so diving in at this time of year was not really an option. I have e-mailed the Zebco address on your web site but have not received any reply. Could you please tell me where I can get hold of one because I am due to fish the Clubman super cup soon and could rely do with the pole?

Thanks a lot, have a good season, Nick

Hello Nick,

I am not sure of the price; if the number 4 section for the sting is not available then a number 4 from the Black Magic 111 is from the same mandrel. Telephone Zebco Sports on 01257 224240 and they will give you details of price and your nearest stockist.

Good luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob

In April I will be fishing the Lower Bann, at Portneal Lodge near Kilrea. As it will be my first time here, can you give me any ideas on how to fish this stretch?

Regards, Len

Hi Len,

The feeder for bream is very good in that area, they are also catching a lot of roach in the forest at Portglenone at the moment.

Good fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob

I seem to have a few problems winter match fishing; I hardly catch anything and was wondering if you can give me any hints and tips?

Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben,

It is always difficult to catch fish in the winter when the water is cold. Feed vary sparingly and use fine tackle to fool the fish.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I am a 13 year old and have been fishing for 4 years now and last season I lost any double figure carp I connected with. I have stepped up my tackle now but can I have some tips on playing the bigger fish please, oh and what is the best bait for hair rigging other than bollies tight lines?

Thanks, Anne Kinning

Hi Anne,

Make sure you use at least 15lb BS line when fishing for big carp, try to keep them away from any snags by applying pressure with your rod. Luncheon meat and pellets both work well with hair rigs.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I’M Jonathon Willert, 12, and I’ve been look for a replacement part for my Browning Gold Medallion fishing rod. I broke at least the last 5 inches off of the tip. It is a 2 piece pole so I think I need a new top half. If you could happen to tell me where to look for one that would be great!

Thanks, Jonathon

P.S. if you need the number on the rod it is GMS662M

Hello Jonathan,

Sorry to hear about your rod, if you give Zebco Sports a ring on 01257 224240 they will give you details on your nearest stockist and if the section is available.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

Can you give me some pointers as to what tactics to use at Riverside Road as I’ve seen you there on a number of occasions with big bags of fish?

Tightlines, Mark

Hi Mark,

Pole with groundbait is good for the skimmers, loose feed maggots for the roach. groundbait feeder is also very good for the bream.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi,

Just got i
nto pole fishing I was wondering where should I start to make my own rigs, I mainly fish canals?

Thanks…

Hi,

Try logging on to www.bobnudd.com I have just done an article on rigs.

Good fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I do a lot of match fishing predominantly carp fishing, but also rivers and canals in the various leagues. I have been looking for an all round 16m pole for some time, but I’m on a tight budget. I’ve recently seen an advert for the 16m Carboxy Titanium Power which is a price I can afford. As this is one of your sponsors poles have you tried it, do you think it will fit the bill?

Thanks, Tim

Hello Tim,

Yes this is a very good pole, strong and stiff well manageable at 16mtrs. It is still in our range this year.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hello Bob,

For a few years now I’ve been using a Shimano Technium medium feeder rod in Ireland, I would like now to move upmarket and purchase a top Browning feeder rod to go with my Browning Ultimatch 50 reel which I find superb for feeder fishing. Any recommendations?

Thanks, Mal.

Hello Mal,

The best one in the Browning range is the Carboxy Bob Nudd Feeder; it is available in 3 sizes light, medium and heavy.

Good Fishing Bob Nudd.

Hello Bob!

You often take brown Crumbs in your Groundbait. What’s the Secret about it and why do you so often take it? Is it only good in England or can I take it that it’s also good in Germany?

Christian from Germany

Hello Christian,

Brown Crumb is only suitable in still or slow moving waters as it is very light and fluffy. It can be mixed with a sticky groundbait to make it lighter; I very rarely use it on its own.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I have recently purchased a BROWNING SYNTEC XL 11 FT FEEDER rod and accidentally snapped the section below the feeder tip before even trying it out! Can I buy a replacement section anywhere?

Best Regards, Steve Morgan

Hello Steve,

Try calling our head office on 01257224240 they will then give you details of your nearest Browning retailer.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I’m having a lot problems with pole rigs – can you help me with chart or a web site were I can down load info to keep with me? I’ve had lots of big fish but I think they are pure luck as being disabled I do fish at least three times a week what ever the weather. I’ve started fishing matches but I don’t feel like going round asking anyone what shot the float takes – hope you can help me please and keep up the good work.

PS – Have you ever heard of supper spice and if so, how is it made?

Thanks, David

Hi David,

Yes it can be confusing, when you see a float marked 4 x 16 the 16 denotes the size of style lead. I am not sure if there is a chart available. See my list below. 4 x 10 = .1 gram 4 x 12 = .2 gram 4 x 13 = .3 gram 4 x 14 = .4 gram 4 x 15 = .5 gram 4 x 16 = .6 gram 4 x 18 = .75 gram 4 x 20 = 1.0 gram hope this helps.

Sorry I have not heard of super spice.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Editors Note –

There is a flavour in the Rod Hutchinson carp range called ‘Mega-spice’ could this be what you are referring to? Many of the Match lads I know use it to ‘beef-up’ ground baits and they also dip hook baits in it – It’s quite potent and gives off one hell of a kick. You should be able to pick it up at your local tackle shop.

Cheers, Julian Grattidge

Hi Bob,

Hi recently purchased a Browning CC510 16m pole and was advised this would take up to 18 elastic but on investigation I now find out they say size 14. I don’t do carp crunching but I would like to know what type of fishing I can get away with without snapping this as 1000 quid is not cheap?

Many thanks, Jason

Hello Jason,

As long as you use the power kit then 16 elastic will be fine, just be mindful of the fact that it is not an out and out carp crunching pole.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hello Bob,

One of my local waters it is filled up with lilies and I usually catch bream and tench in summer. but as soon as I get the bream in (usually between half pound and 5lb) there is always a pike which gets in my way and snaps me up, which usually ends up in a new pole rig, but last summer I did fish it on a rod and line and I got 2 of the pike in one was 6lb and the second was 17lb, I am wondering if there is any way of avoiding the pike?

Cheers, Dan

Hello Dan,

This is something which happens to all anglers when pike are around; because you have attracted fish into your area this means an easy meal for the pike. You just have to let them take one or two fish and then hope they go away.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd

Hi Bob,

I’m a junior who has taken up fishing. I only know one leger rig, but do you know any that are good for deep water, and shy biting roach?

Hi,

Normally a paternoster rig is best for shy biting roach.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I fish a local lake at Liegh Sinton Farm; I fish the waggler and leger but can’t seem to catch anything. Have you got any tips for me?

Cheers, Dan

Hi Dan,

Loads of tips but it would take me all day to write them. Try watching some good videos or reading Angling Times,

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Dear Bob,

Have you ever fished in Cyprus?

Michael

Hi Michael,

No I have never fished in Cyprus, quite a few of my friends have and they say the carp fishing is brilliant.

Kind Regards, Bob Nudd

Hi Bob,

About 20 years ago I managed to obtain a split cane rod made by James’s its about 11 foot it’s a kind of float rod called a Kennet Perfection I was trying to find out its value, not that I would ever part with it ?

Yours with thanks, Steve

Hello Steve,

Check out Angling Times there is an angler called Chris Sandford who buys and sells old tackle, he often advertises in there.

Kind Regards, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

My name is Ozzy I live in Birkenhead near Liverpool I have recently just started course fishing and I need to know if you know where there is some good places in that area. also where I go fishing its a place called Rivacre Road, a nice little pond, how do you catch carp as there are a lot of huge ones and I don’t know how to catch them as I have tried everything?

Thanks, Ozzy

Hi Ozzy,

Floating crust is always a good summer bait on small ponds.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

What is the best bait to use in a block end feeder for carp?

Cheers, Dan

Hi Dan,

Normally two or three red maggots.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

There is a pond by me which has perch, roach, bream and carp. It is about 4ft to 5ft deep. Which would be the best feeder to use?

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,

A medium open ended 15 gram feeder with groundbait should be about right for a small pond.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I am having a problem with my pole fishing during matches – Some of the fish fall of the hook when shipping the pole back to land them?

Thanks, Kirsty Hiscock

Hello Kirsty,

It sounds like your elastic may be a bit heavy, try using a lighter one. Also make sure you use a pole roller, this will help you ship back smoothly.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

What’s the best bait/boilies for catching big carp/also the best groundbait?

Thanks, James

Hello James,

Boilies are without doubt the best bait for large carp, at this time of the year a fruity flavour is best, in the summer month’s fishmeal can be very effective.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hey up Bob,

Can you recommend a suitable hooker pellet for the waggler plus an appropriate hook for distances 20 to 25metres, the intended pellet size is 4 to 6mm?

Cheers Mate, Kev from Staffs

Hello Kev,

Try the Sillybait pellets and use a band to hold them in position. If you need a soft pellet hen use the Van den Eynde Juicy pellets.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hello Bob,

My girlfriend’s dad and I go fis
hing every week for bream but are not having much luck and are only catching the odd one. We are thinking on a holiday to Ireland or Holland hoping to bag up I’m wondering whether you’ve got any tips for me were about to go?

Thanks, from Ryan

Hello Ryan,

Get the new holiday brochure from Anglers World Holidays Tel 01246 221717. They have loads of Ideas and destinations in Ireland and Holland.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I’m going to fish my first match at castle Ashby lakes in Northampton, (a water I understand you know very well), the match is a silver fish match on Scotland pond, could you advise on the best method to fish it, and bait to use, I was thinking of pinkie, caster, hemp, chop worm, and a ground bait mix of swim stim black, and fishing about top 4 to hand?

Thanks, yours Kev

Hello Kev,

I hope I am not too late for your match but I have been away on holiday. Start by fishing the tip with a groundbait feeder a small hook with a single red maggot, at the same time loose feed pinkies at about 11 metres use a small float, 22 hook and single pinkie if you catch skimmers on the tip then stay on it, if not then fish for the roach on the pole at 11 metres.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I look and look for black magic 2 but nowhere has one. I live in Sheffield and don’t have a car so I can’t get very far I used to have a bkm but it was stolen out of the shed could you help please?

Thanks, Stephen

Hello Stephen,

The Black Magic 11 has been replaced by a Black Magic 111 this is made on exactly the same mandrel the only difference being an improvement in the quality of carbon and new cosmetics.

Kind Regards, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

Do you no any good carp fishing places in Cambridgeshire and what bait would you recommend to me?

Isaak playford (12)

Hi Gary,

There is a great lake called Rockalls Farm it is near Saffon Walden it is on the Essex Cambridge border, the best baits are sweetcorn and luncheon meat. Their website is http://www.rockellsfarm.co.uk/

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

This is a really easy one – I am new to angling but am very keen to learn. Can you tell me how to tie my hooklength to the main line? Is it some special knot or just a couple of loops?

Kind Regards, Daniel Ford

Hello Daniel,

Two loops is the method favoured by most anglers, make sure you tie a figure of eight overhand loop. I use a four turn water knot.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

Can you tell me were I can send back a no 6 section for my 910 pole as I think I need to get it back to browning to check it out for faults as it snapped as I played a carp on a no 6 elastic and 0.10 line the carp was about 2 pound the shop that I got the pole from has since closed down? Thanks for any help you can give.

Thanks, Bill

Hello Bill,

Try our head office on 01257 224240.

Hi Bob,

I have two feeder rods one light and medium range, could you recommend a good heavy feeder rod for method feeder fishing?

Thanks, Matt

Hello Matt,

Zebco have a great rod for the Method Feeder, it’s called a Rhino Heavy Feeder.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I have recently purchased a pole where the top three sections are telescopic; can you tell me the easiest way to elasticate the pole to stop the sections going back on each other?

Cheers, Ron

Hello Ron,

This is a common problem with telescopic top kits, try to leave the top two set up and there should be enough room in the third section for the elastic to drop inside.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

Hi Bob,

I am 14 and I fish many matches and catch many bream but I am interested in catching big carp. I was wondering if you had tips for the carp and any tips on the bait I should use for the carp. I fish a pond that is a fair size and its max depth is about 6ft.The carp in the pond are mostly 20lb and more but because it is winter I was just wondering what bait you would recommend for fishing for the big carp?

Thanks, Jamie

Hello Jamie,

For big carp the only bait is boilies, try fruit flavours these work better in winter.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I need to get one of my Browning reels serviced. I am unable to find the address or Phone No of their service dept Can you help, please?

Cheers, Chris Williams

Hello Chris,

Try our head office, on: 01257 224240.

Regards, Bob.

Dear Bob,

Can you please help; I have just started using liquidised bread but don’t seem to get the mix right, can you please advise your method of preparation?

Many Thanks, Malcolm

Hello Malcolm,

You will need a fresh loaf of sliced bread, cut off all the crusts, roughly tear the slices and put them into a liquidiser ( do about 2 slices at a time) liquidise them, sieve them carefully through a maggot riddle , any large pieces that are left liquidise them again. Do not add any water the freshness of the bread will make it sink when squeezed into a ball.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I’m a 12 year old angler with a new 9.5m Targa pole. Have you got any tips on being comfortable whilst using it?

Thanks, Roger Stiggs

Hi Roger,

Make sure you sit level on your box and fish the pole at a length which is comfortable for you.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

I’m 14 and a VERY keen fisherman, I have been fishing for 10 years and would like to try and get sponsored but I don’t know how to go about it? You are my angling idol; your ‘Guide to Pole Fishing’ video was bought for me as a present from a family friend and I thought it was the best!

Thank You VERY Much, John Rowlinson

Hello John,

It’s not that easy to get a sponsor, first you must be very good at either specimen or match fishing, you can then go to a company with your full fishing CV and hope they sponsor you. Glad you liked the video.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hello Bob

I am off to fish the Erne system in April. Can you give me some tips on avoiding the tiger mussels when feeder fishing, i.e. lines and tactics?

Thanks, Peter

Hello Peter,

I wish I knew – they are a real problem! Make sure you fish in a clear area where there are no snags, cast with a straight lead and then use a line clip once you have searched your swim and found the clearest spot to fish.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hello bob

Could you please tell me were I could buy a browning kit 5/1 code number 167250 and roughly how much I could expect to pay?

Thanks, Steven

Hello Steven,

Try calling our head office on 01257 224240.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

I spend a lot of my free time fishing my local club water on the pole, there is a good head of roach and skimmers as well as the bigger stuff like tench, carp etc…

I like to fish for the roach and skimmers mostly but have been bumping fish off on the strike, or losing them when I ship back. I usually use light hooklengths but the elastic in my top 3 is a number six. Is this too heavy?

Should I change the elastic or invest in a spare top 3 and rig it up with lighter elastic? Have you any sort of guide to matching up elastic and hooklengths to avoid bumping off or losing roach?

Many thanks

Lee, Manchester

Hello Lee,

A number 6 elastic should be OK as long as it is lightly set, try using an adjuster bung you can then vary the tension depending on the size of fish you are catching.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

When fishing pellet on a water with fish between 10-20lb, what size hook and line would you use?

Thanks, Rob

Hello Colin,

Use a large hook, something like a Size 8 and line of around 10-12lb.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hello Bob,

I’m 9 years old and I’m stuck on a question. I’m fishing on Thursday to see Nan but Nan will not let me by maggots. So to catch these silver fish I have to use bread which hardly works. The water is about 6 foot.

Thanks, Brady

Hi Brady,

Try using a bread punch, this is a small pellet of bread which is punched from a sliced loaf, the outer part of an old biro pen will do as a punch.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob

I was just wondering if it is possible to fish with hemp seed in the feeder on stillwater fisheries, if so what sort of feeder would I need to use?

Yours Faithfully, Craig Gregory (age; 16)

Hello Craig,

Yes, use a groundbait feeder, fill the middle with hemp and then plug it either end with groundbait.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

Could you please let me know what the biggest pole caught carp in the UK would be? I would be most grateful for any info I can find about this subject?

Hi,

I am not sure as there are no records available but I know of one which was caught at Willow Park which weighed just over 23lb.

Regards, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

I’m fishing at a carp fishery called Greenalgh lodge in Kirkham, the carp can be from 2lb up to 12lb what mixture of paste would you use on a pole in murky water? I want the paste to break down. Please help me.

Thanks, Josh Holden

Hi Josh,

Try the Van Den Eynde paste all you do is add water; it always works well for me.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

Can you tell me what the best bait for carp would be around May time?

Hi Brian,

Soft pellets are always good; try the new Van Den Eynde Elite expanders.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

How do I present cheese paste on canals for chub?

Thanks, David.

Hi David,

With a pole or light link ledger.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob

We fish a small pond at Barley in Lancashire it is about 1 acre with a lot of mixed species (not commercial) and there are only about 40 – 50 bream in there and once I’ve had one you never get any others?? I met u at go fishing 2004 and u gave me a video on bream in Ireland and Holland thanks!! Do you remember me I had an operation on my face remember?

Would it be possible if you could come and cheer me up by fishing a day at our fishery? Thanks bob you are a real friend.

Josh Hindle

Hello Josh,

Yes I do remember you I hope you liked the video, Lancashire is about a 200 mile drive for me if I am in the area I will let you know and perhaps we can arrange something.

Keep in touch, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

I just wanted to let you now, the river Bann in Portadown is fishing well again. I know how much you loved fishing the Bann in the 80’s. They are getting big bags of roach at Shillingtons; 100lb bags and the boathouse is also fishing well with big bags of bream. Could you let me know a mix you would use for caching roach on the tip, the lake is very deep and I just can’t seem to get many bites?

Many thanks, Jason.

Hi Jason,

Glad to hear that the Bann is fishing well. My mix for roach in deep water would be 50% Van Den Eynde Super Roach and 50% brown crumb.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

When fishing feeder on the river is it best
to use a light feeder or a heavy one, and which ground bait is best?

Thanks, John

Hi John,

It just depends how fast the river is flowing, try to fish as light as possible without the feeder moving. Try using the Van den Eynde Explosive feeder mix.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

I’ve been trying to catch carp at Little Packinton, Birmingham. I’ve tried using boilies but I’m not having any bites is it because we are in spring if it is that what should I use.

From Steven

PS – when it comes to fishing you are the master

Hi Steven,

Try using soft expander pellets they are a much better option at this time of the year.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

I have got a match and I have to use bloodworm & joker. Any tips please.

From Mark

Hi Mark,

It would take a book to tell you everything about bloodworm fishing. Use a small hook, feed the joker raw or with some damp leem, try to keep your bait as fresh as possible.

Good Fishing, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

I remember you doing an article in the AT not too long ago on feeder fishing. Within that article you mentioned a knot for joining braid to nylon, also diagrams etc (basic idiots guide!!). I’m trying braid this year; any pointers in the right direction would really be appreciated

From Graham

Hi Graham,

You tie an overhand loop in the braid and then use a tucked half blood from the nylon.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

My question will be simple: which British fishing magazine is the best? And how must I do to receive it in France? I prefer you give me the name of a weekly magazine I can make a subscription.

Best regards, Fred the French policeman from Calais that helped you to transport your equipment after the Open Declic 2003!

Hi Fred,

The best one is the Angling Times it is a weekly. The subscription address is;

EMAP ACTIVE LTD
SOVEREIGN PARK,
LEICESTER
ENGLAND LE87 4PA

Best Regards, Bob.

——————————————————————————–

Hi Bob,

where can I get top sections for this pole, I only have one as I bought it second hand and want to have at least 1 or 2 more to vary the elastic

Thanks, Euge

Hi Euge,

Any Browning stockist should have these; the Black Magic 111 has identical tip sections. If you have a problem ring Leigh Angling Centre 07762814877 they will be able to post them out to you. Tell them you have spoken to me.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi Bob,

I’ve got a Shimano Technium pole its only 7 mths since I bought it but on one of the sections its started to splinter I’ve caught it pretty quick and lightly sanded it down how does this appear its on inside lip of the male section any tips on stopping this

Thank you, Simon

Hi Simon,

If you can get a nose cone to fit the section then try that it should prevent any further splintering.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.

Hi bob,

Where can I get a good pole for £150-£200?

Thanks, Maurice

Hi Maurice,

Your local tackle shop is the best place to start; you should be able to get a good pole for that money.

Good Luck, Bob Nudd.
