  1. No problem Janet , thats exactly what it did to me. The village in the video is South Elmsall , which my father was born and grew up in , went down that very pit along with 3 of his brothers , his father along with many others relations. Brings back many many memories. Timeless and priceless.
  2. Is anyone familiar with capturing an online video? I use a couple of programs for youtube but the video i am after is hosted by the BBC. This One My usual programs dont seem to be working with this video at all. I went to their help area and the cost of ordering a dvd of the video is over £100. The video is rather close to me as there are some family members on it , filmed throughout. Are there any other programs i am missing or have a struck a brick wall? Thanks Mr M.
  3. Youtube Video ->Original Video
  4. Cheers Chris , i think that could be exactly what hes after , hes a right stick in the mud when it comes to anything complicated or newfangled but that looks as easy as pie for him. I'll let you know how he goes on. Thanks guys. Mr M
  5. Thanks for all the advice guys , i'll pass it on to him.
  6. My work partner is after buying a printer , one of these new wireless jobbies but isn't too keen on paying the price that they charge for the ink cartridges. He doesn't use his printer for perfect prints but he does use it a lot , so his question is....... Are there any wireless printers out there that use compatible ink cartridges? Mr M.
  7. Ha bloody ha haa. Very funny , NOT!! Long live Man Utd.
  8. This was another haul he filleted too Paul. Damn good filleter was John, best i've ever seen.
  9. Having read this thread deeply , i think the real reason it is frowned upon is by the authorites. The authorities want their cut on you selling the fish and if they don't, then you can't sell it. A bit pathetic really isn't it? For what its worth....i have given away plenty of fish in my life with many a recepient asking " how much do i owe you?" ...."nothing , just get me a pint if you enjoyed it" was my reply. I have received red meat , veg , presents , money and COUNTLESS pints 'paid-on' at the bar with so many thanks that if there was a penny attached to them i would be a millionaire....SERIOUSLY. An angler enjoying his catch with his family and friends is something that started probably by cavemen and will stand proud while ever there are fish left in the sea. Plenty more fish in the sea.
  10. Ain't going to stop me eating fish. Who actually cares ? And to what end will an outcome ever be found? Never. Get fishing.
  11. I would expect the answer for shore caught fish to be the same Ivan. As far as i know , you still need a license of sorts for selling any perishable foodstuffs. Might be wrong though. Someone on here will know.
  12. As us Yorkshire folk would say..................nay.

    Sick Cod

    As Barry says , i'd be more worried about the size of its belly , the poor things are starving. The lesion / wound on its snout is a little off-putting but i don't think it bears any connection with the taste of the fillet , all be it rather unsightly. I've eaten loads of dodgy fish and its never bothered mooo baaaarrr
  17. Whats done is done (as far as the trash walking the streets these days anyway) mate. What i would do is implement a vetting scheme to all gutter park trash that turn up wanting a comfirmation from the doctor as 'pregnant'. The things spit kids out left right and centre these days and all for the same thing.....BENEFITS. I'm sure if the system were altered , offering a lot less in the way of benefits for single / living together parents with umpteen kids then it would kurb the mass influx of beer-f*ck kids. I was building a pretty good snowman yesterday afternoon and having gone for a warm in the house my youngest daughter shouted "dad , snowman broke" , shes only 3. Looking out of the window i was greeted with a dismantled snowman and the perpetrators running out through the garden gate. Catching one of them , he was swiftly taken into the garden where he had snow rubbed into his face , under his hat , coat pulled forward and dumped in there for good measure.....general mucking about with snow. Well the language that came from his mouth was nothing short of disgusting and not for my kids liking (i couldn't care less ) but not for my kids. He was ejected from my garden with a foot up his arse from yours truely. His mother came round 5 minutes later hell bent on giving me a right royal b*llocking. After explaining what he had done and what he had said she spluttered something and disappeared. What really gets me is..........this strain of a generation WILL be the workforce / brains of this country in some sort of way. Be it in a warehouse / factory whatever. Whats the odds on this country being totally knackered in 10-15 years time?????
  18. And just incase any of you guys had forgotten , New Years Day 2010 will bring ......17.5 % VAT.
