  11. John, Not easy to answer this one,as different swims can demand different approaches. You have to take into consideration things like depth and size of fish etc. You would be as well going to your local library and seeking out a copy of either Bob Nudd's or Tom Pickering's books on pole fishing.Failing that, then I suggest you have a walk round your local water and watch anglers in action. If you approach them quietly and ask them for info, most,if not all, will be only too happy to help you.
  12. Not forgetting Zigzig Sputnik!

  14. It would help us if you were a bit more specific as to which river you mean. By the way, welcome to Anglersnet!

  16. I use any of the Richworth powdered dyes and they do the job.Have also used food colourings from supermarkets, but these tend to wash off after a time in the water.
  17. They are called "sour bran specials",and are a top hook bait for skimmers and bream. Sorry I can't give you any more info, save to say that from what I can recall, you don't get too many for your efforts, but they are only really intended as hook baits. I also remember that some anglers did use urine instead of milk!
  18. You sick little puppy!
  19. They are fishable on a day ticket, which you can obtain from Glassbrooks tackle shop in Radcliffe. This is also a good place to enquire about baits and methods. I have not fished them for a few years now,but they are all very reliable for a few fish, with the exception of the large deep one which can be good in winter.
