  2. Heard today the sad news that the famous American hot rod builder Boydd Coddington has died aged 63yrs. The cause of his death is not being revealed as of yet. This is a sad blow to the world of hot rod building, and as a fan of the TV series American Hot Rod I for one will miss him. From the TV series he appears to be a very demanding employer who can get the very best from his workforce, but in return he also gives back to them as much as they give him. He was famous for his crazy deadlines for building a car from scratch. http://jalopnik.com/361391/boyd-coddington...-dead-at-age-63 I was going to post a link to his website but understandably it has been temporarily suspended. My sympathies go to Jo his widow and to the rest of his family and the crew at Coddington workshops.
  3. Well I slept through it all, more or less. Apparently our dog, Gromitt, was sleeping on Chris's couch in his bedroom when it happened, he climbed onto Chris's bed and stuck his nose in Chris's face for a little reassurance that all was OK, but Chris waved him off so he decided to come down to us and wormed his way onto our bed between us and hid there. obviously feeling safe there I awoke some time about 5-00 am to find him on his back with his feet in the air and snoring like a herd of pigs. (the dog was snoring not Chris ) he's quite a noisy snorer at times. I knew something had happened during the night but put it down to either wind or rain, but on reaching the kitchen and putting on the radio, all the talk was about the earth quake. It's taken nearly all day for poor ole Gromm to calm down he's been well agitated.
  4. This is off of their FAQ page which states they get your details from the NHS!! http://www.ukbiobank.ac.uk/faqs/contacted.php
  5. Just a quick question, were the singers all HAM-A-CHEWERS????
  6. Never expeirenced anything personally nor heard of anyone esle who've been involved, but I found this on the 'net.... http://www.ukbiobank.ac.uk/ if it's any use to you.
  7. Another good source of information is a yearly book/magazine called Fishing 2007/8/9/10 etc. It's a yearly edition that is obtainable from... Ambassador Print Marketing, 66 Redland Drive, Northampton. NN2 8TU Tel. 01604 820380 Fax:01604 820399 Contact. Richard Blenkharn. mail@ambprint.demon.co.uk Plus also you've got this website to go to as well, I think this is also part of this publication..........http://www.fishinginnorthamptonshire.co.uk/
  8. Most definately a roach, nice fish.
  9. Have you ever considered buying any from this company.... http://www.thesoftbaitshop.co.uk/Scripts/default.asp There are all sorts of lures available some will do for pike others for perch, chub and the like. Others are meant for sea use, but all are worth thinking about especially if unusual. Their prices are quite reasonable too.
  10. Yes sad news indeed Elton, I've been buying Midland Angler for as long as I could remember. Lovely mag, local news for local anglers, written by local anglers. Hell I even applied for a job there a few years ago, I didn't get it by the way. I doubt it will be printed again, I hope it will, but doubt it.
  11. MIDLAND ANGLER, SOUTHERN ANGLER, NORTHERN ANGLING Publication of the above titles will be suspended following the production of the December issues pending an asset sale which is expected to complete not later than December 31st 2007. Any queries on the above should be directed to Keith Higginbottom at: Keith Higginbottom Managing Director Regional Angling Magazines 40 Ball Street Sheffield S3 8DB e-mail keith@regional-angling.net khigginbottom@btinternet.com@ Hope this helps, sadly Midland angler and it's sister papers are now no longer being published
  12. Ah well that news guarantees 10/10's thick cloud for the Northampton area tonight then for certain. It always does when anything like this occurs.
  13. I was thinking that myself Newt. Actualy with skinny arms like that I'm surprised she lift the gun let alone fire it.
  14. mmm a proposed licence to smoke eh? this could be quite good fun. Now would itbe a licence like the EA rod licence and renewable every year from the Post Office or.......... would it be a lifetime licence like the driving licence??? Imagine if it was the latter.... For a start off everyone would have to have a provisional licence to start with and to wear 'L' plates whilst purchasing and smoking cigarettes, which throws up another problem....... Would they have to have a qualified smoker with a full licence with them when buying and smoking cigarettes?? Obviously with a large influx of learner smokers you would have to have smoking schools where learner smokers could go to be taught to smoke correctly and obey the laws of smoking. Then you would have to create new laws on smoking, speed limits, smoking whilst under the influence, dangerous smoking, smoking without due care and attention, it opens up a wholel new can of worms. Plus also you'd have to have smoking police to ensure that the laws are obeyed, new rules as to on the spot fines, penalty points on licences, wow a whole new range of different ways fro the government to screw even more money out of the populus. Don't laugh it may happen yet!!!
  15. An old man is looking curiously at a teenager sitting next to him in a cafe. The teenager has spiked hair in all different colours,-green, red, purple, orange and blue. The old man keeps staring at him and every so often the teenager looks up and catches him looking his way. When the teenagers had enough, he asks sarcastically: 'What's the matter, old man, never done anything wild in your life?' The old man doesn't bat an eyelid as he replies: 'Got drunk once and had sex with a peacock- and I was just wondering if........... > > > > > You were my son'
  16. I can only add to what's already been written. They are poor quality and NOT worth buying. I don't know how, or why, a company with as big a name as Shakspeare, can put it's name to something as bad as this.
  17. As some of you are aware, the fishery at Nether Heyford in Northamptonshire has been closed for some time now, well I looked in on the local rag today and found.......... THIS Anybody got a few quid to spare???
  18. Further to my original posting on this subject I have now recieved an email from channel "5" giving me a very plausable answer as to the purpose of the badge worn by characters "Mack Taylor" and "Lenny Briscoe" in "CSI New York" and "Law and Order" respectively. Here is part of the email giving the explanation... So now we know, and this would make sense as Mack Taylor lost his wife in the 9/11 attack and I believe she was an employee of the port authority. Would that make sense Newt??
  19. This thursday is Chinese new year, in case you didn't already know it. Who's going to do a Chinese meal from scratch? or will you cheat and get one form the local takeaway??[] who's gonna be brave and give it a go? Does anybody indulge in doing Chinese at home?/
  20. Yay it's pancake day today , who's having some then and what yer having in them?? Are you traditional sugar and citric fruit juice or are you more adventurous?? I read in the paper the other day when they mentioned it was pancake day that the majority of people don't know how to make the mixture to produce them. I find that rather sad and typical of modern life.
  21. Yes the River Huntspill is a good Bream venue. I've found THIS LINK which might help you, it covers some of the rivers in the area. HERE'S another link that will give you some info. Good luck hope you find somewhere to enjoy catching. If all else fails why not contact your local EA office I'm sure they would be able to help.
  22. Congratulations Gray, it's a wonderfull feeling ain't it?? This is my li'l grandson his known to us as Li'l Matty, he's six month old now. This is him trying to fly.
  23. His names not Mohammed by any chance is it??
  24. Well I've just emailed both CBS and NBC with the same question as to what the badges are and what they represent. Sooo it's a case of sit and wait to see if I get an answer. If not I guess it'll be a visit to the collectors fair at Milton Keynes. One way or another I will find out what it is. It may take some time tho'
  25. Don't worry Jeff, it's the same on nearly all the forums, well the one's I frequent, it must be "that time" of the year again.
