  1. the big snooze is ok, you'd need a cover for winter use and the zips aren't the best, have a look at the peachskin, its a lot better
  2. try sandhurst at yateley mate, its not too difficult and its full of big fish
  3. pulled this from another site, if your in the north west it might be of interest The Wirral, Merseyside and District Carp Forum are putting on a great show on 20th February at Bromborough Civic Centre Wirral. Guest speaker Derek "The Don" Ritchie is travelling from down south to entertain us also Viper Bait Boats, Fox International, Mainline Baits plus many others are exhibiting, there is a great show lined up by anyones standards. There are great raffle prizes and an auction for an exclusive Carp Fishing Holiday in France worth over £1200.00 and a Brand New Viper Icon bait boat. Lets show our support by turning up and giving them a Great Northern Welcome, we know there is a credit crunch so entry is now just £5.00 not bad for such a great show. Give us some feedback and let us know your comments or if you are coming.
  4. if your in the north west try gp http://www.gppellets.co.uk/
  5. what kind of a fishery manager bans maggots
  6. they like those nice orange smartcast floats too
  7. the one on the right is the one i use i've had mine a couple of years now and it cost £4.95 at the time :D
  8. i wouldn't buy a fox box mate, have a look in the toolbox/storage section of your local b&q, i picked up my tackle box from there for under a fiver and it looks very similar to a fox box
  9. you might have got wet but at least you got your rod/reel back, and you landed the fish B)
  10. get the digi camera out and take loads of photos whilst its empty mate, they could be extremely useful at some point in the future
  11. the fishing bag looks good for the price, and theres an aldi shop on the other side of town
  12. i'd go for big game mate, i first started using it at the beginning of the 90's, 18 years on i've got total faith in it
  13. good to see you've thought about this mate, unfortunately there is no safer way to set up leadcore than on a helicopter type rig
  14. i've been doing ok on the green coloured peparami this winter
  15. some interesting points in this thread, i fished the weaver in cheshire for a season or two and did well fishing close in with boilies over a large bed of hemp, i always used a backlead though, i know river carp are easy to catch but i was never happy in my own mind unless my line was pinned
  16. neither crabmill or plex flashes are day ticket waters, the link to wheelock's site is there for you to see but don't expect to gain membership anytime soon, the waiting list is long and it will take a few years to get in
  17. i would have thought just dropping the 'session' bit from the title would do
  18. http://groups.msn.com/thebaitboat try the link above you might have more luck
  19. i had a good read around a few forums before buying mine jeeps, the general opinion was the watch and the rod mounted versions weren't up to very much.....the mobile unit got a lot of good feedback though. its a bit of an expensive replacement for a marker setup, but its far more accurate and a lot quicker with no spooking of fish so it suits a short session angler like me
  20. i've just bought the rf10e mobile station and used it for the first time yesterday. as a feature/depth finder its excellent,as you wind the float in it gives you a perfect map of the lake bed,5 mins playing about with it and i knew exactly what was in front of me feature wise,i could'nt have got such detailed info with a marker float setup! no complaints about the range, the float only weighs about an ounce and its not exactly areodynamic,i found i could get a signal as far as i could cast it.
  21. warrington aa's grey mist mere is not far from you mate....not sure how safe your bike would be,i suppose you could put it behind your bivvy if your worried about it. waa do have a website you could look at. http://www.warrington-anglers.org.uk
  22. nothing wrong there mate, boilies do float to the top when you boil them...just leave them in till your boiling times up then scoop them out and leave to dry on a towel...you should find their ok after that.
  23. no mark never even seen the rookery mate...i heard it was a very long walk from the car park so i never bothered,i was too interested in petty to take a look...lol
