As for answering your question, some people like making their own, but you can buy ready made ones, e.g. Dick Cleggs ready rigs.

Leedsunited i was just wondering, out of curiousity as to how old you are. As you ask a lot of questions, not that i am complaining because it is a forum in which you are supposed to get help, you seem like a young angler like i am.

I personally don't think there should be a "ban" on barbed hooks. As i haven't been fishing that long i can't really argue as to which are the best. That is why i also had a forum named "Barbed or Barbless, what's your opinion?" Upon reading the replies to my topic it gave me a better understanding of which type of hook to use and when. There will be certain situations where a barbless hook will be best suited, e.g. for small silver fish so that the hook can be easily removed. However, there will also be times when an angler thinks that a barbed is best situated. I use them so that i don't lose as much fish, but further, in depth reading of the topic i created revealed to me that barbed hooks also decrease the chances of a tear in the fishes mouth. Overall though, i think the quote "each to their own" answers all this controvesy. Finally, Breadflake Ash, there will be times when YOU have used a barbed hook, you know you have.

Peter, i take it you mean you are over the moon with your Okuma Epix Pro reel? If so how much spare spools has it got?

Where abouts in the country is this place lads? It sounds good.

I am thinking of purchasing a new reel but i am a bit undecisive over which one to get. I know there is a lot of competition these days so i would be grateful if anyone could help me out. The reel has to be one which is generally for course fishing, it must have quite a lot of ball bearings, and must have some spare spools too. I am thinking of getting the Okuma Epix Pro.
