  16. Hey Mr Mcfudge, Along with the multitude of others congratulations!! your efforts have been rewarded truly and deservedly with "the stuff of dreams" Any angler with an ounce of integrity hoping to emulate an achievement like yours would never dream of "stealing" the hard work and effort you have obviously put in to your capture. Awesome mate!!

    Abu 506

I believe the later 501 (the one with the black spool )came with the backwind facility and it was the 506 we took the washers out of.

    Abu 506

The 506 can be "fixed" to allow the backwind facility, I remember when I used to send my ones back for a service the buggers would "fix" them and put back the cogs we used to take out, I think that is how the 501 came about.
  21. Well went chub fishing on the lower Medway last week and walked past a young lad with rod pointed skywards and line that would be at home on my pike reels, Enquired how he was doing he informed me he had only just started but had caught a barbel from the same swim the day before. When he reeled in to recast I saw he was fishing with around 3oz lead "fixed" around three inches from his hair rigged boilie, He went on to add that he had just started fishing again but he had taken a photo of the barbel on his camera phone which he then showed me: and there it was around four pounds of lower Medway barbel, Now I believe and will have a go myself. He also had a picture of a cracking perch which he said went 3 1/2 lb from a farmers pond near maidstone which was free fishing but i`ve forgotton the name of the farm doh!!
  22. argyll, Thanks for the info: Kevin (kayc)
