  1. Severus Have a great time, you have got here just in time for the cold snap and travel chaos. Tony
  2. Mack Get yourself some vertical jigging gear, the alcedo range is pretty good as is the new Fox trek range Heavy duty fixed spools designed for the job will cope but they are not cheap. You will also need briad in the 520-80lb range fluorocarbon rubbing leaders and heavy duty traces and swivels. Shops such as Graingers in South Kensington, Leslies of Luton, North East Tackle Supplies and Rok-Max should all be able to help.
  3. And out of season to boot!!!
  4. Happy birthday Steve By the way what's a tian? and pan fried Sea Bass, how the hell are they supposed to fry them, in a bucket? Anyway I hope the meal was wonderful Tony

  8. I would love to have attended; but I am undergoing a self imposed Coarse fishing ban for a year, in order to concentrate on other forms of angling.

  16. Steve When I say new it was my relatively new Orvis Western 2 9'6" 6# but it is her second Orvis rod and will replace her 9'6" 6-7# Airflo MT. We could always do a husbands and wives AN fish in at a suitable put and take venue, is there any thing near you Sue and I are willing to travel? Tony
  17. Steve I tried and it led to too many arguments, Sue was lucky enough to get some free instruction though; through Casting for Recovery, following her breast cancer treatment and also from Adrian Cook at Newhouse farm Trout fishery Totnes. It still leads to cross words when I try to brush her up on technique so I just leave her to her own devices and she generally catches her fair share of fish. Lakedown this weekend should be fun, Sue will be using her new Orvis for the first time. Tony
  18. In the UK I would head back to Northumberland, affordable fishing for Salmon and wild Brown trout and decent sea fishing on the doorstep.Coarse fishing would have to go the journey though. Overseas subject to some regime change Cayo Guillermo in Cuba would be nice.
  19. I just want to spend more time Trout and sea fishing that's all I may do some predator fishing but I want to spend a year doing something different to the past twenty seasons.
  20. Small stillwater Trout for me; I have given up Coarse fishing for the foreseeable future.
