Licence never did arrive

As I ordered two from the Post Office, I've cleared out a shelf in my office for all the duplicates and widened the letterbox by a couple of inches.

Have not got mine yet either. As long as you have paid dont worry as long as you carry the receipt from the PO. Its their problem. Your all on the database.

I ordered mine online 3 weeks ago and a week later received 3 new shiny licences all with different reference numbers.

I will make a prophecy.

Next year you will get three reminders to buy a licence.

Even if Arkie1 buys one, there will be an army of bailiffs out, perhaps with police back-up, seeking to catch Arkie 2 and Arkie 3 :rolleyes:

I paid for one at the PO ,got 2 in separate envelopes a few days later , both with different issue numbers, then I got another a few days later which was a duplicate of one of the others. Seems like the new system is working a treat, some of us have several others have none at all.

If they send you two by mistake with separate numbers on, can you fish 4 rods?

It's another "new computer system" farce. They took my direct debit money on 2nd March, a phone call to the EA on 2nd April confirmed I did have a licence (they gave me the licence number) and it would soon be in the post, and a follow up phone call to them this morning confirmed it would soon be in the post as they had a huge backlog. They seemed to think this was acceptable :wallbash:.

Why are they doing it this way now? If you pay at the PO why stop them issuing the license?

I asked the same question of the lady at the village post office where I have bought my licenses for the last umpteen years.

It was a rhetorical question really, because we both agreed it is obviously the first move towards removing licenses from the Post Office altogether, thereby further diminishing their raison d'etre

Yet another move in Labour's vindictive war against rural communities.

Don't think I'd take that chance. The EA are bound to be aware of the problems and licence checks might be supported by reference back to the purchase (don't know though). If they dig deep enough the fact that you've paid for one licence only will come to light.

If it was just a bankside eyeball check then I suppose you would get away with it. Interesting point though, I wonder if they can be bothered to check properly.

It's never a 'six', let's put it back
