Going away for a while (again)

I have not been too well for a while now but just put it down to a nagging cold/flu or one of those bugs that is going around.

I took Sonja to work Thursday morning and when I got home felt very strange, severe chest pains. I called Sonja and told her she would have to get a taxi home as I did not trust driving. The client bought her strait home, I was out cold by this time.

The next thing that I knew was that the Doctor was pumping me full of stuff, in and out of it for a while then found myself in an ambulance. I was feeling a lot better by this time. In the hospital they did a few tests and it turned out that I had bloody pneumonia :(

I was then told that the boss Doctor was not happy with the test results and that I had to have a CT scan the next day. They wanted me to stay in overnight but I was having non of it as I felt great (high I think).

Next day I do the CT Scan. While we were waiting for the results I told Sonja that if all is well they will tell us here, if not they will take us into an office and offer us a cup of tea.

They took us into the office but no tea. It turned out that on what remains of my right lung there are 6 nodes, on my left lung 7 and on my Lymph glands loads of nodes, all these little buggers are very active.

On Tuesday I go in for the camera down the throat job again and then off for some Chemo.

So, it seems that Mr Cancer is having another go at me but on 3 fronts instead of one

I phoned Norrie but did not tell him about the cancer, sorry Norrie but you have your own business to sort out.

I phoned some one else to ask for the overdue money owed me but was told no chance.

I phoned DavyH and have asked for a trip for just Sonja and I on 4th 5th June, thanks Davy you are a true mate.

The boat is up for sale though I am not holding my breath with todays fuel prices. Alberts daughter goes in for a CT scan on Monday, good luck girl, you all know where we are. :)

I called my Sister and told her what is going on, she was a bit upset but was dead chuffed about Sonja's Bass and our Wales and Lymington trip.

We might have to make a few changes to Newts trip over to Europe but will let you all know in the next few weeks.

On the way back from work today I booked some fly casting lessons.

We have been down this road before so all the usual things have been taken care of and some of the things to do in my life have been moved up the agenda (just incase).

I have been a bit grumpy and grouchy with some of you over the past couple of months and I am sorry but at least I know why I have been such a s**t.

Why am I writing all this drivel, well thats quite simple, apart from my sister and Sonja you lot are my family.

Off to the pub.

For some reason these things have to happen to someone.

If I was the one rolling the dice, you and Sonja would be a long, long way down on my list for those that deserve such a crap roll.

But thanks for sharing it with us Alan.

Helps us all to get our own problems into perspective I guess.

Good luck at Lochaline, I hope that you get a big one.

Mullet on the fly, now there's a challenge!

You clearly are someone with strength and resolve and these are the things that you will need.

We will also offer a few prayers, everything can help.
