No Steve those plans, campaigns and Strategies are just there to stop us enjoying the improved fishing now. We've already got the first MPA up here in Yorkshire, slap bang in the middle of a top fishing area, the government intends to implement many more inside of 6 years and with no opposition from the SACN and NFSA, your left wondering Where next ?

They really do not have a clue the BASS, SACN or the ruddy NFSA. With such a small percentage of the UKs sea anglers chosing to join them how can they possably represent sea angling UK.

Some of the bods that have the governments ear hardly ever go fishing un yet they think they know what is best.

 

I find it all very concerning.

Can't you fire off your concerns to defra. Emails don't take long to do, if you have so many concerns about these organizations, let them know. You could form your own orginization, something like the non-orginization sea fishing club.

So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Hello Barry.

 

I have e-mailed DEFRA regarding many of my concerns. However I get the feeling they are happy to deal with Leon and Fere as they will give away our sea angling freedoms and DEFRA can then apeese the commercial fishermen by tying us up in a strateregy.

As far as I know it's John Leballuer counting "0" group bass in his local estuary, and something similar that CEFAS do in the Solent with fish that are a year or two older.

Mr Leballuer claims that his own data is more accurate because he is sampling "0" groups and CEFAS are sampling fish that are 1 or 2 years old, and therefore the CEFAS data is 1 or 2 years out of date, according to him.

 

Either way, any decline in recruitment is local, not national.

Its got to be dodgy research as they are bound to be biased. How objective can any bass survey be from a group who have the agenda of the B.A.S.S organisation (Ie stop commercial bass fishing and implement an elite sports fishery).

 

Would you trust obesity research from Mcdonalds ?
