Avatar (the picture with your username)

You must have made 15 posts before your account will accept an avatar.

 

Once you have done #15, click on My Profile (link at the top of each page), click on Edit Profile, scroll down to Avatar Image and pick the one you like.

 

If you have have a picture you prefer to the stock Avatars we already have, I can create one for you. Just attach a copy of the picture you want to an email and send it to me.

 

Note that they will be sized down to 48x48 so any picture with detail will be almost impossible to see other than as a blur. Several examples:

I'm getting confused now. Even when people use their own faces their avatar gets knicked.

If there no way that the selection page could restrict access to in-use avatars ?

It would save some occasional arguement if the system could prevent personal avatars being nicked. I well remember the volatile case of a certain kingfisher!!!!!!!!!!
