Received this today from my friend in the west of Ireland who still insists on opening unsolicited emails.

both myself and daniel tried the web link for the anti-malware cure without success it seems that the virus is blocking the link!! I simply cant use my computer now as all the programmes seem to have been affected except for email any suggestions?

It seems he has fallen for the "your computer is infected" scam from antivirus 2010.

 

Anyone got the answer in simple terms for him??

litle old lady next door no doubt will be calling often in the future.

she's 89 and getting frail so bought a netbook for online shopping and is waiting for BT to broadband her up .

she asked me to pop round to "advise" her how it worked .After 5 minutes i realised sometimes it is too late to teach old dogs new tricks :(

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

It's passed the downloading stage!! Antivirus 2010 won't allow any any Malware or antivirus downloads apart from it's own website.

I called my friend to suggest doing the System Restore option, but he has already taken it to the computer shop. Last time there they managed to lose loads of his work!

Some people just don't listen!!

 

No doubt he will start opening dodgy emails again very shortly. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

hi get some one else to download malwarebytes on to CD then install it from there when doing the install ignore all pop ups from any other running progs

when malware is finished make sure to tick the update box ,shutdown PC then restart.
