We're catching up with you Sportsman, -10oC last night (still is in fact) in sunny north Herefordshire. No snow though!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

I suppose it's all down to global warming.

The Gulf Stream is slowing down.

We're aahhll doooooomed!

Ah yes. A very valid point! Global Warming will affect the Gulf Stream and that will indeed make Britain and Ireland cooler

I guess you are right, you're aahhll dooooomed. :) Pretty normal summer day here. 39C with 32%RH so there is nothing to be concerned about there.

at 39 deg thats not nice one bit i like 25c tops the cold doesnt bother me although the mrs was mumbling indoors was 15c this morning swiftly forgetting in the past our houses actually froze tea in cups in winter ,i like the windows open at night.

yesterday was surprising a sheet of ice on a dangerous bend up the road encountered at 9.30am yesterday ,boy my back end went twice on it as a house owner stood watching no warning just watching ! on the return 3 hours later there was a poxy mini half on the kerb on the worst part ,not only did i have to go round the bend i also had to avoid this idiot :rolleyes: who was the person gesticulating to the still watching watcher i presume.

the roads were made worse as the sun rose what was frosty rods at 7.30 am melted at sunrise then froze again for the trip home.

-3.3c outside now

This particular cold snap seems to be pretty wide spread.

We are seeing nighttime temps down to -7 C this week which is highly abnormal for Northern Florida. Above freezing during the day though and no precipitation so no ice to contend with.

- 6.1 outside now pretty cold ,slept overnight in sleeping bag as a youth (didnt dare drive home from pub so often slept nearby until morning) in -8 so its not to bad yet .no wind so no wind chill ,very different on way to work some mornings on the honda.

one day holding back tears of pain i had to get of bike as hands were frozen ,foolishly put gloved hands on exhaust to warm them up then left most of the gloves palms stuck to it and i had to go the other 6 miles even colder ,a lesson always remembered.

the chap who used to join me had electric gloves the barsteward!

You poor sods;

perhaps not 'poor' at all. I like having identifiable seasons, helps the body clock, year clock, nature has its rest time, its right.

I have lived in places with seasons which are 'hot' and 'hotter', and find it not to may taste at all. Xmas on the beach, have been there and done that and it was the pits.
