Hi all,

 

It seems to me there are different types of anglers.. which one are you, or closest to of the options below

 

1) The angler who just likes to be beside the water in natural beauty of the surroundings next to the trees and wildlife regardless of what or if they are going to catch

 

2) The angler who is searching for the specimen fish, but also searches for a water that gives them that natural surrounding feel as well

 

3) The angler who searches out the waters that will more than likely give them the big prize they are after, even if that means fishing a featureless water

 

4) Other (please specify)

 

I am sure there are plenty of other types of anglers, but just a thought....

 

I am between option 1 and option 2 (depending on my mood!)...

I would say around the 1 mark. Nice surroundings, kingfishers landing on the rod... Or just watching the mist creeping along the lake in the morning light is my ideal world!

 

Perch, Bream, Carp, Tench or Gudgeon.... Its all good to me :)

deffinatly a 4.) other ,i don't really give a monkey's about being in ,the beauty of the countryside or surrounded by the wonders of nature ,when you've seen one green field ,you've pretty much seen them all ,and you could probably have a gaggle of young nubile ladies dancing naked in a circle with flowers in their hair in the same field and i'd probably not notice .unless i'd stopped fishing for the day .but i do feel the urge too be beside running water ( i get a little cranky if i cant exersice that urge) .once there its me v's the fish and time & everything else is just background noise .its the same wether i'm gudgeon_grabbing or i'm after a barbel .size isn't important but makes for a nice suprise .getting my method right and getting the most out of my tackle is more important ,but mostly getting the most enjoyment from the adventure /experiace is what drives me .wether its coarse ,game or occational sea trip

im just happy to be on the bank, having some peace and quiet and if i catch something its all the better!

yeah i would happily hunt out a "hidden" lake in a quest for a nice big "virgin" carp but i certainly dont base my foundation for a "good days fishing" on whether ive bagged up or not!

to each their own though....different goal posts for different people.....its all part of the rich tapestry that is fishing!

The closest of these for me is number 2. However the difference is that I'm not necessarily after specimen fish but difficult fish. Specimen fish tend to be more challenging, but it's not always the case. So maybe it's number 4?
