I am absolutely amazed at this figure, it is astounding. Can somebody please explain why burglary (1st offence) is usually a conditional discharge, fishing without a license is £2k fine (NO I don't condone it) but killing thousands of fish is £6k only ?

Surely the owners of the stretch should take a private prosecution to at least recover the cost of the replacing the fish. (I am sure as a newcomer I have missed hundreds of similar threads on this type of thing).

Maggot Drowners seems to be of the same opinion as us:

-Any fine handed down will be pathetically small,

-The fine will not reflect the level of compensation and punishment needed,

-It's simply not good enough.

And unhappily I have to agree with those points too.[ :(!][ :(!]
