Caught my first ever double figure bream last night - at 12lb 2oz it was nearly 2¾lb heavier than my previous best. Caught by design too - had suspicions that we were getting liners from bream during our last visit - so set out to catch one last night - though being me I wasn't having any of this bobbin nonsense - had to be on the float!!!!

Pic shows a rather damaged looking fish - spawning damage do people think? - no evidence looking at the mouth that the fish has ever been caught before!

I reckon caching bream on the float rod set up is the only way you'll get any real pleasure/ fight from them. I reckon a 12 on the floats gotta be the equivalent of a 20 on the ledger :D .

Did you make a loud buzzing noise when you got the bite, so any other anglers would think you were a 'proper' bream angler? ;)
