Only a #6 for my eel rod ND! I only went down to a #12 and back up to a #14 by the end too, it was just a case of finicky daytime roach at Acle until the bream moved in for a spell.

It IS a really nice place though John, I recommend it highly too.

Good work there ND, seems like all bases are covered. Nice one!

Hi Mark

Looks like you are all set for the Middle Level for your event.

I'm sort of wearing two hat's nowadays, one of King's Lynn and one of the Eastern Region Angling Trust as I'm chairman of both.

The AT has a project ongoing around working with Eastern Europeans called building bridges and has employed a young polish angler from Wisbech to build bridges within the catchment.

I wounder if Pawel could drop by and have a chat to your lads on the weekend of your social, he is very open minded and knows the river quite well.

Clearly our long term aim is to both educate and intergrate these anglers into the UK. It would be really good if in the future some of the Eastern European anglers could join in, if your are willing.

Let me know what you think.

Regards

Kelvin

Mark,

No issues with parking as long as common sense prevails ie ensure cars do not obstruct traffic particularly tractors! also no problem for you to erect signs, we will put up signs stating banks reserved on Friday 9 Sept. Anglers staying for rest of Sunday would be charged for a standard day ticket (£5). Crooked chimney is an excellent stretch also, however, we have continuing problems with the access road not always easy for cars (potholes/ruts) in wet weather you need a 4x4, access also from Mortons Bridge. Thanks for interest in our waters and wish your event a success and hope to meet on the day.

Regards

Mark

So all questions & more now answered...

36 day & counting

Hi

I was hoping to attend the meet, but I have a match on the Saturday and its my sisters 40th do that night, so there is a good chance I will be hammered. :D:D:D

I am going to try and get down and say hello late Sat afternoon, but sadly cannot fish.

For the lads after the Zeds, make sure you take some freash trout from the supemarkets with you, It worked a treat last season. Take some Eel section as well, If the Eels are about they will rob the dead baits, giving false runs alnight.

I use 10lb Fox Carbo Flex as trace with size 8 semi barbless hooks. Eel section I Hair rig with single size 6 hook...works a treat.

Good luck everyone

Darrell

Seems a long time ago I started this thread. Now feels time is going so slow as still 22 days to go. I like I guess many others are already busy writting out bait lists & forever changing them. Planning out whart is essential tackle for the weekend, tactics being formulated as we do this. I am going to Peters bridge for another look next week to check water & weed conditions, I will post results after. The one thing that is worrying me, is that this event may fall flat, ( I may be wrong). But the chatter has gone so quiet on here & it makes me nervous. I know I said I would not ask, but, who can confirm they are coming. My hopes are that the 50 pegs reserved are not enough, now that would make me very happy on the day. (Does that sound stupid or do you understand what I mean?). Please reply as you can, this silence is to quiet.....

Mark.

The silence certainly is deafening. I'm still on board, bringing my little brother along now too, he's 12 but he'll behave otherwise he becomes deadbait...

I'm hoping to come along, actually I'm really looking forward to it and could well be the high light of my Autumn fishing.

I have become a bit of a Zander fan in recent seasons but have only fishing for them at Bury Hill in Surrey and South Lagoon and R Ouse in Wyboston so would love to try for a Fen Zander.

Anyone got any plans?

Stephen

I'm still hoping to come along and possily fish for Pike//Zander. I've lived in Cambridge for over 2 years now and feel I really should be taking advantage of the predator fishing in the fens more.
