Where to take an old man on his last (maybe) fishing trip

I am taking a 91 year old friend of the family fishing on Sunday, on what could possibly be his last ever trip.He is nearly blind, so he will have to touch ledger, I think.I was planning on taking him to the Trent (we live in Nottingham), but it would be really great if he was in with a chance of a few fish. Any ideas lads? Must have easy access, willing to travel a few miles if neccesary.

dont bury the old boy yet , a member of farnham as is 93 his 69 year old stepson brings him fishing ,just being able to get out in the fresh air is adding to his years :)

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

Sam Missile:
I agree with all the responses but I especially agree with budgie, somewhere that is special to him, he has caught his fish so catching is not essential but a bonus.

When my time is near closing I hope that I have a man like you to take me on just one more (possibly) trip.

Good luck to you both.

Yes well put Alan.

When i watch a passion for Angling its always sad to know that Bernard venables has passed away.

Its a joy to watch his face catching those perch.

Hope you have a fullfilling and happy day Sam.

And take some photoes when you go.
