when i catch the big fish or when i see a large crowd around an angler who has also got a big fish sometimes you will hear people say "i would give me right arm for a fish like that"

 

i think they are talking in jest but it made me think what would some one really give for a life time best fish?

 

would you give up a body part, your job, a bottle of best whiskey, a night with the wife (indecent proposal)?

 

what would you give up and for what level of fish?

Hopefully I'd have already "given" up my time, in locating, and working out how to catch the fish.

I don’t think that angling is that important to me to ‘trade’ anything for a lifetime fish (already caught one anyway ). It’s one of the few pastimes which can be really enjoyable even if you fail miserably so I’m happy with that.

As I live just a couple of miles away from the (in)famous Oak Lodge and it's monster catfish it seems I wouldn't even give the £20 they charge to fish there for a day to catch a monster
