Sounds about right for our wonderful government. Can't see it benefitting them though, it'll only make the cartridge manufacturers even richer (the thieving toerags)

 they have been chipped for sometime ,refill a cartridge and it knows its been empty so refuses to work ,buy a zapit or similar and it forgets and welcomes it,easy

Hi all

most things that come onto the market are, in time cracked!!

so it will be a matter of time untill someone goes round it, no matter how hard the companys try to stop you with chips etc.

like chesters says most have chips and most can be refilled.

Are ALL printer inks chipped? I have a Lexmark Z55 which needs both back and colour replacements and was thinking about buying a refill kit

Price of ink is crazy - especially if you do digital photography.

I never buy the printer manufacturers ink anymore - place I buy from just now, I get colour ink for Epson printers, working out at around £2.90 a go - and there is aboslutely no difference in quality - even when printing a 6 megapixel photo. Colours are fine.

Seems to me they now sell the printers cheaper so you buy them, and then make the money of you when you buy their ink carteriges.

I've got an Epsom 760, uses black and colour cartridges, I get compatible cartridges from www.choicestationery.com, I pay £18 for 5 of each. I have no connection with this company....
