Ok with the next installment of winter arriving just about over the whole of the UK tomorrow I thought it may be an idea to apologise for starting this thread.

SORRY

P.S - anyone want to buy a sledge, snow shovel, deicer or grit/salt?

Forcasters have now extended this cold weather right through till after the easter weekend only changeing after easter monday a lot buisness in this coastal of whitby town will be relying on some sort of reasonable weather for one of those days over easter but it looks just the same cold easterly winds till continue till atleast the 3or 4th of april .

People will be hit next month with hugh heating bills which you dont quite expect to be so severe at this time of the year i know myself as i spent over £800 on heating oil over the last 4 months mad.

Oil isnt cheap to heat with we spent afortune on it at the last house.

No real fires you can use or convert to a backboiler ? Still expensive but you can burn second hand wood on it in emergencies.

In two houses ago we heard the local sawmill gave away scraps so i asked if we could have some ,bugger me the next day a huge lorry tipped many tons of it on the pavement tooted and left.

Some of it was ok but most thin bits but it was free!

The fire had a backboiler but it only heated a tank there was no central heating in the place but it would have beenfine to use for heating if the council had fitted it

Oil isnt cheap chesters i installed it about 10 years ago when it wasnt to badly prices we had coal fires here where i live for 16 years prior no central heating there is no gas in the village cold never bothered us all the kids now grown up and left home but as you get just tadge older you tend to want to put the heating on more and more defernetly thinking about a wood burner to cut the costs down plenty of wood available if i need it so it looks like its now the way to go.

My brother has a lartge building buisness and a lot of mates are in the same line of work so problem getting a burner for the right price plus instalation off my brother should be just a large bag of cod fillets.

GFS weather now giving no change in this easterly weather in the near future unbelievable really its going to go well into april.

Its cold over here on the Suffolk Coast as the cold wind blasts off the North sea - no snow yet.
