Humpty Dumpty was a powerful cannon during the English Civil War (1642-49).

It was mounted on top of the St Mary's at the Wall Church in Colchester defending the city against siege in the summer of 1648. (Although Colchester was a Parliamentarian stronghold, it had been captured by the Royalists and they held it for 11 weeks.) The church tower was hit by the enemy and the top of the tower was blown off, sending "Humpty" tumbling to the ground. Naturally the King's men* tried to mend him but in vain."

* NB: The "men" would have been infantry, and "horses" the cavalry troops.

Vaut mieux ne rien dire et passer pour un con que de parler et prouver que t'en est un!

Miss Muffett was a 16th century little girl called Patience whose father was called Muffett or Mouffett, who was a renown entymologist,Patience did not like the bugs.So when bugs dropped in to her breakfast of curds and whey one morning, she jumped up spilling the curds and whey and ran out of the house

or so the story goes.

Only unlucky at night since the light will show quite a ways. In a combat zone it usually takes about the same amount of time for the 3rd person to light his fag (and his face) as it does for an enemy to see the light and take good aim on it.

Wordbender - trust me on this. A sniper who was already looking at a concentration of troops and had a rifle ready could possibly get #1 and for sure could get #2

With todays hitec night sights / infra red sights

they can shoot you from a mile away!!!!!!!!1
