they all worship the same diety, but they have more than 34,000 different ways of doing it.

Life was slightly simpler in the Neolithic, although the principle was the same.

.....then I stripped them, scalp from skull, and my hunting dogs fed full

and their teeth I threaded neatly on a string

and I wiped my mouth and said, "it is well that they are dead

for I know my work is right and theirs was wrong"

But my Totem saw the shame, from his ridgepole shrine he came,

and he told me in a vision of the night,

"There are nine and sixty ways of constructing tribal lays,

and every single one of them is right"

Another throw away comment, but could you get away with starting a thread, At last - a good use for a Koran?

At times it seems that it is acceptable to ridicule Christians/Jews and there are plenty of jokes about Catholics/the Pope/Prods/Vicars/Rabbis/Jews etc but a bit like the elephant in the room in the Zanzibar acid attack thread certain parts of religion can not be discussed and certainly not in a humerous or disrespectful manner.

When I hear those oh so edgy comediens taking a pop at the catholic church, I do think well if you are so out there and everything should be fair game why not take a pop at an Iman in the same sort of way. They might do the odd hook joke but stay well clear of anything that could be seen or interpreted as being offensive to Islam but it is fine to be offensive to most other religions.

I guess this chap was lucky he came across this set of ladies (Sound like baptists to me)as those poor girls in Zanzibar found out, some people pull out more then a book when annoyed about something.

Stephen

Like i said i have put my views across on a good thread i think. Religeon and politics always make people put the world to rights :)

Yes Dale i felt so sorry for those girls it seems to always be acid if it's their own or otherwise. It would be my worst nightmare to have my daughter return from such an attack. I do not know what the latest is on them it seems to have gone quite.

I hope it's not too serious especially i hope atleast it's not the face...

Like a bible, you could always hang it on a nail.

The only reason you don't get many mainstream media jokes about Islam is fear, plain and simple. The followers of the paedophile prophet are crazy and enough of them are homicidally crazy to make public broadcasters and magazines or public figures wary of setting off their hair trigger "offence".

They don't get as much attention from atheists simply because they don't pose as big a threat to western values as Christianity but they certainly don't get an easy ride either with Youtubers like

happy to take them on and events such as everybody draw Mohammed day being popular enough to cause Pakistan to pull the plug on YouTube and social networking sites.
