It's celebrating the arival of puritans in the new world.

After leaving the UK because secular lawmakers had curtailed their right to opress those around them, they got the hump and bugged out to the Americas where they were free to oppress the natives and the Quakers alike.

I just remember we are glad that something has happened we should be thankful for. Though it had something to do with the shirking of Brits. I may be wrong.
