There is a free download for photoshop that Steve posted a link to that will enable you to de-pole that image. I thinks it's titled something like 'removing power cables' - it works on old versions of photoshop as well, as I only have V2.

Common Darter, they look pretty big here but are only actually about 40mm long, that's the abdomen, (the long skinny bit) the thorax adds a bit more length but not a lot.

Thanks for the info Rob (and Fred), I'll make a note of that for when I finally get photoshop (I'm using a very old copy of paintshop pro, and virtual studio at the moment).
