Cheers all for your kind comments. Paul, here's the exif data (but the real trick was being lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time): -

Exposure time: 0.0008 s (1/1250)

Aperture: f/6.3

ISO equiv.: 200

Whitebalance: Auto

Metering Mode: spot

Exposure: aperture priority (semi-auto)

Den, love the two Swans, what a terrific pose, the one on the left has got a bloody thick neck aint it? I think it must be crossed with a giraffe.

Den, those swans are awesome, you almost have a perfect heart shape there, that would have been poster material.

Rabster, I can't wait till someone picks a bird theme for the Photo Comp, have most of your photos been taken recently or are the birds in hibernation at the moment? (Hope you don't mind but I am collecting your bird photos, have a folder just for all the bird pics on here)

I hate getting up early, I didn't even realise there were two 6 o'clocks in one day!

This is my best photograph of the weekend; my son coming down a slide at the local zoo:

Great Pic, Purplealien but I hope there wasn't a lion with his mouth over the end of the tunnel at the bottom. I am starting to think that you will not take a photo unless it has some shade of Purple in it. Let me guess, is Purple your favourite colour?

Hi TB.

Yep, all piccies have been taken recently & I think posted on the day I took them. I don't know of any birds that hibernate - they just migrate. So the ones that find it too cold hereabouts clear off to warmer climes, I think from the UK they generally fly to overwinter in Africa. But, whilst we lose a lot of our songbirds during the winter months we instead get an influx of birds from Northern Europe & the Artic, so there's always something to point the camera at. :)

Regards

Cliff
