Great topic cory.

Graham Hancock's book that i'm currently reading basically puts across the theory that our DNA/building blocks are not of this planet but were put here by design. It's an interesting theory, not sure if I agree, but I like the idea.

Saying that, i'd also love to be able to believe without doubt that there is a god. I think i'd find that extremely contenting and reasuring.

Evolution deals with the diversification and increasing complexity of life, not it's origin.

I can see where you are coming from Ken, but I put a broader interpretation on the word

Origin of life involves evolution from the geochemical to the biochemical

ie water, methane, carbon dioxide, ammonia, hydrogen sulphide and a few other simple compounds can be present as a result of geochemical processes.

Mix them together under the right conditions of temperature and pressure, and hey presto! you have simple amino acids, and from there on the evolution is a biochemical one.

i find it abhorrent that the government want creationism to be taught in schools.

and that's my last word on the matter :)

I agree with this sentiment Jeeps but where has such a thing been proposed?

Confused

Some good posts. I think that humans did evolve but not on Earth. :o I think the "Bad Back answer" could well hold the key. I ve said this before maybe its designed for a planet with a lower gravity.

Same as we STILL squint at the Sun, surely after X millon years of evolution our eyes would have adjusted to the amount of sunlight they get.

I have read that the ammount of debrie in the asteroid belt betwen Earth and Mars could well have been a planet long ago. Maybe our eyes would be more suited to a planet just a bit father away from the sun.

Could life on earth be a last ditch atempt of some doomed race from there. Maybe well find out if we ever get a foot hold on Mars. :sun:

Thanks for the info Jeeps.

Any way everyone knows that Genesis and Darwin are non-sense. The universe is the spawn of the great celestial carp.

Peace to you all
