Zander fish-in - October

Anderoo

Excellent. I can lend you a drogue (assuming JV doesn't need to borrow one any more). 20lb braid will be hard to manage, 10lb or even 8lb would be much better. I think I have little reel with some 10lb PP on I can lend you.

Me too! I have several reels with 8lb spiderwire (1lb mono diameter) the braid diameter makes a real difference, any wind and thicker braid makes fishing really tough. The difference in diameter between Andrew's prowerpro and my spiderwire means I can usually use 5-10 grams lighter jig heads.....

Noo that was mine and Rusty`s masterplan ,I have a drogue Anderoo and if that is not enough to slow the drift then I shall throw Rusty overboard and get him to swim in the opposite direction whil;st attached to the anchor rope....spent plenty of time recently vertical jigging with small shads for perch and caught lots but all small great fun mind also casting and slow retrieve also gives those tugs on the tail of the lure .Crap rods snagged a canoeist at midnight paddling 4` away from the edge of my boat ....jeez sometimes I think the backlead should be up the bank....prob catch a mountainbiker then

I was digging out suitable tackle yesterday and I have two rods I think will be OK.

A 7ft Daiwa spinning rod 10-50gm that is tippy and quite rigid in the but.

Also a TFG compact all rounder that can be fished at 8ft and is pretty much poker stiff.

Just been into the Friendly Fisherman and bought enough shads, jig heads, stinger components and 10 lb Power Pro to finance a lavish Yuletide party for the entire staff and "their sisters and their cousins and their aunts" :fishing::fishing:

Making up stingers and lures, and looking forward to the trip......

I'm looking forward to it too, just hoping the weather and fish co-operate...! I have a day booked between now and the fish-in so hopefully I'll be able to point us in the right direction on the day.
