Generation Gap

, is the most shallow, vain, empty headed objectionable piece of work that it has been my misfortune to meet in many a long year.

She is surgically attached to her mobile phone with which she takes a continuous stream of "selfies"

..........

From her pierced navel to her spray tan, false eyelashes and sunglasses implanted in her blond hair she is a parody of herself. Essex girl in her full Majesty

So, is she a victim of her environment or just a child of the times?

LOL What a crusty old man !

You may find the best is yet to come, as with expanding mammaries will come an expanding army of testosterone-fuelled meatheads hanging on her every word. :)

To answer your question. We have seen three daughters and five of our six grand-daughters (No 6 is just ten years old) through early teens without too much trouble, but have noticed the Narcissistic trend in their contemporaries which has got worse since the invention of mobile phones, "social networks" and the like.

Something similar must have happened back in history when the hand-mirror was invented.

The crustiness I can't deny, but on this occasion there was much to be crusty about.

Thankfully, she returns to the bosom of her family today. She says that she won't be coming back. According to her our house is in the back of beyond (1Km from the village and 5Km from the town) She also decided that she didn't like to go out with us as we didn't wear "designer" clothing which showed, apparently, that we had no pride in our appearance.

Product of our times I fear, attitudes fuelled by OK! magazine and the likes that extol the "celebrity is everything" virtue.

But remember, she is only 13; what were you like when you were that age and what do you think that your elders thought of you?

Our chief weapon is surprise

You could take into account her age, upbringing, environment and peer pressure. She would still be obnoxious. She is a nasty spoiled brat.

If I had behaved in any way like that when I was that age my parents would have battered me form here to breakfast time.

My wife and daughter were close to strangling her by the time she left. Personally, I hope I never have to put up with her again.

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

my parents would have battered me form here to breakfast time.

First time I've heard that expression since my National Service days.

A hapless youth being ticked off over some service misdemeanor or other said he had become confused as NCOs were shouting at him.

His corporal responded "Duffield , you are now in the Royal Air Force and you will get shouted at from a***hole to breakfast time"

Thought it was a very picturesque phrase but never heard it since
