Living where i do i hate the V festival, all the damned as$holes who don't give a toss about the environment and are more than happy to chuck their sodding litter all over the place and empty their "toilets" into the stream and brooks that run around the area.

Have you noticed how 'older' people who don't really understand music always assume that Radiohead and The Smiths are depressing. Have you? Have you? :wheelchair:

:oops::P

;)

Come on, your from my 'era' what do you listen to??

To identify your era I need to know your age! ;)

I seriously thought about V - good line up and what with there being no Glastonbury this year and me being a serious Glastonbury-aholic! but I'd only be making unfair comparisons ;) (same genre of music but more commercial) So instead I'm going to a couple of local festivals, Larmer tree (http://www.larmertreefestival.co.uk/) which is really chilled but no reallly big bands and Beautiful days (http://www.beautifuldays.org/). Meantime I clewan the mud of my tent from last year! :)

And less of the "older" people please! unless you were born circa 1960!!

I was only joking, I went through my Smiths faze at school, daffodils hanging out of my pockets, etc. Then I got into the Cure, Mission, U2, Jaz & Maz (now they were depressing) all that sort of stuff really. These days I like Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Green Day, bit of Coldplay, that sort of stuff really. I do have a thing for Girls Aloud as well though ;)

Wow, thats the all encompasssing narrow minded comment of the weekend :clap2::D:D:D

I love the Smiths and have done since they first started. Morrissey is a genius writer. On the flip side you`ve got Radiohead who, to my ears anyway, are the modern art of music.

Too many music critics fear insult if they tell the truth about the band. Its like the Emperors New Clothes of the music industry.

Lets face it, Radiohead make Coldplay seem exciting. Can you dance to it? Nope. Can listening to it put you in a good mood? Nope. The only uplifting thing is that Thom Yorke must be way more depressed than anyone else on this planet so theres always someone worse off than you.......................

And in his words.................

"If you want to be entertained, go and see Hanson"

Headlining `V`. No ta.

Gozzer, thats a bit much mate :P

You ever hear the Cohen appreciation album `I`m Your Fan` ????

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds did Tower of Song and it was such a weird rendition that some other guy had to do a more `Cohenesque` version so non Cohen people would have an idea of what the track was supposed to sound like!!!!!!

Mind you, John Cales Hallejuah was brilliant.

By far the best track on the album and (for me) one of REMs greatest tracks for atmosphere had to be `Manhattan`. Awesome for a cover.
