Fantastic achievement Leon Congratulations to you and your team.

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

"Even a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work."

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

Having seen Leon wearing his SACN guise, at a recent Sea Fisheries committee meeting, I can testify to what a daunting task he sometimes has. He has to fly the flag for us anglers, while most of the others at these meetings, as commercial netsmen etc, (who natuarlly want to protect their own interests and livlehoods) see conservation as an inconvenience.

Leon has to put across his points in a non-inflamatory way, so that people can be persuaded to, rather than made to swallow a sometimes bitter pill.

Very well done Leon.

I have met Leon and his good lady wife, they are both nice friendly people. Leon is a bread apart from most of us when it comes to campaigning for angling, his organisation and presention of the facts are nine time out of ten excelent. There are not many of us that could be bothered to get of our bums to collate so much info.

WELL DONE LEON YOU DESERVE A MEDAL MATE!

now that's nice, always a pleasure to hear good news in the murky world of sea angling politics.

well done to all at SACN and in particular for Leon, may your mullet be big and plentiful all season.

No more than the MAN deserves I feel!! Congratulations to a worthy winner of such a prestigious award and I am happy to say I learned him nothing!!

Completely self taught he is :) and FAR too modest methinks!!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

OK guys, me heads far too big now :)

I gotta say that if it wasn't for the support that I get from a lot of people, and the inspiration that I get from others who have quietly got on with doing the job for years before I got started, I'd have thrown in the towel some time ago.

It's very much been a team effort, from the day that Sam's dad twisted my arm 'to do something on the internet' (it seems several centuries ago now!)

And without Elton's support and continued forbearance we'd never even have gotten started.

Oh! and lots of others.

But there's still a mountain to climb, so I'm appreciative of the odd pat on the back from many of you who have become real friends over the years.

Thanks :)
