"People who break the law by fishing in the close season are often guilty of other offences, and not just those concerning fisheries. This is why we have the police on-board nationally, and of course the UK National Wildlife Crime Unit, to support the Environment Agency."

 

If the UK National Wildlife crime unit were that interested they would ban all activities on rivers to protect all the wildlife not just the fish. The closed season is really just a joke when canoeists , boaters dog walkers, and others can disturb the banksides and water ways with impunity.

People used to harvest fish ,reeds and waterfowl on a commercial basis and there were plenty left ,it appears the more we "protect" something with so called experts advise the more they decline

The enforcement they keep harping on about again and again and again and again, recons they are doing good for sorting out poaching. Anyone looking at poaching prosecution's will see that there isn't a problem in the first instance, it's engineered to make it look like a problem that TAT are solving. There is no clue as to how much tax payers money they are being given to produce all their noddy volunteer policemen as the fees are hidden within the payments they receive from the e a.

 

they poke their nose into all aspects of angling in the u k. At present they are attempting to close down the bass fishery in the u k using aged science that is not fit for purpose, proposing legislation in the u k that is not targeted nor will it fix the alleged problem, that certainly appears to have been engineered but certainly promoted by TAT and their chums BASS, roskilly, salter, mitchell. And the geezer down the south west, who is a converted commercial fisherman of sand eels who now wish to impose their wants on all. They wish to see the Southern Irish model imposed within the uk , that has failed, because it's not targeted at the alleged problem. They even claim the bass stock is about to fall off a cliff, all they do is make the organisation look as useful as a chockie fireguard. They claim to rep all anglers yet they have not ONE recreational sea angling rep on their books, NOT ONE, despite a turnover of 2 million pounds of mainly tax payers money. They have linked the u k anglers into the failed commons fishery policy without consultation with the very guys whom they claim to represent. They are now paying their chums, the EUROPEON ANGLERS ALLIANCE healthy sums each year of tax payers and anglers subscriptions again without consultation. The whole org stinks of something and it's not anglers co-operation that's for sure. In addition they absolutely hate alternative opinion that does not agree with their directors wants or needs so they are also quite good at blocking those anglers from their outlets.

Not seen the buggers sitting at night looking for poachers at my water so i guess its just hot air as usual

 

You will find all these groups set up to "protect" things will be so jealous of others doing the same thing or horror of horrors mere mortals getting in the way of their agenda they will undermine all others and set themselves up as lord protector then fight to ban all interference from others but worst of all insist on restricting the very people they are representing because they get in the way of their blinkered outlook on the problem they invent to gain power in the first place.

The trouble is those that let them get power over others have no idea about real life

 

A prime example (not fishing related) was a cunning chap implying "dogging" was going on on a bit of council land ,made it stick in the end with clever bits in the paper etc then offered to buy this haven of sex from the council for some small sum and in the end got it ,nothing at all happened on this land i passed it several times a day and at night on my bailff duties but he "protected" us from this invisible threat and the thickies that control our lives let him get away with it because they are not fit to control us

 

If they have charity status then you have a right to ask for their accounts so you can find out where the money goes

I once asked for a particular "not for profit" lots book and indded there was no profit but they appeared to spend vast amounts on cheap things and paid themselves handsomely and the "charity" bit just a few percent ,i tipped of the sun but it never took up the lead

Not for profit is a great scam you simply spend the money before the financial year ends ,what you spend it on is up to you ,ten thousand pairs of shoes for africans appears ok so long as they are all size nine african that like saville row shoes (wink)

Where's the problem? What the bloke says is perfectly true, 'anglers breaking the law during that period stand out like a sore thumb'. If they are not breaking the law then so be it, but those that are deserve to be nicked, plain and simple.
