I've got "up to" 8 meg, but since the so-called "upgrade" I've had speeds varying between 0.7 and 3 instead of a rock-solid 2. I guess the contention ratio has gone downhill.

I always connect via LAN connection as I have so many usb devices that I need the one that the router would use.

Plus I think that the LAN connection is miles better for networking

i dont have a network ,would it be an advantage to install a network card purely for the router ,would there be a major speed change compared to usb (not sure what usb the router uses but the mobo is usb2 copatable)

but what's the contention ratio?

Don't forget that you may well be sharing "your" 8MB with 10, 20, 50, unlimited others

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))
