Humour deficiency ?

Cranfield

Recommended Posts

i have just reread the posts above (i homed in on Dens bit regarding me so was distracted)

" Methinks that there has been a clash of personalities, behind the scenes, in this case.

It seems that it resulted in Dave (Ferret), getting suspended."

if this is true its a shame ,hopefully Ferrett wont wander off to another forum (as so many have) for i'm sure was either a momentry lapse of tact or a responce to a post that was set up to get a reaction .

i missed whatever the fuss was about and if indeed Ferret did post something naughty it will be quickly forgiven as an oversight ,we all say things we dont mean occasionally and people have "bad hair" days which is reflected in their postings on accasion but WORDS CANNOT HURT US and i hope his posting "privilages" are returned ASAP .

if anyone who dared cross any line was banned anglers net and especially Chesters1 would have disapeared with lack of posters years ago. If you dont like whats being said counter it with valid remarks or bite your lip sure as hell tommorow will follow today and the post will sink out of sight untill its forgotten.

i Like AN the mods are a little heavy handed but mostly fair but from what i can see a little protective of posters feelings if the posters get "picked" on ,i can take any abuse so i expect others to do the same were not children any more hiding behind mothers skirts

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

Grangers law : anything i say will  turn out the opposite or not happen at all!

Life insurance? you wont enjoy a penny!

Most of the sanitizing and removals from yesterday were my doing and I can tell you that none who have posted on this topic were in any way the cause of the actions.

Cranfield - I apologize but I was a little busy and forgot my manners. I should have let you know when I removed a topic you had started that turned sour through no fault of yours.

Newt it does appear that it is mostly you that always pulls the plug on these threads. Is it perhaps just a coincidence or could it be a culture clash?

Could it be the different sense of humour, between British and Americans? Or the different use of the English language? What may seem innocuous enough to us, may be seen as offensive to Americans <_<

in defence of admins and moderators they have kept this website clean of racism, abuse, slander and insult i can only imagine they had good reason to delete them and we should all be thankful they do this to keep the website running as clean and sensible as it has done for so long.

cheers guys

I support that completely. I was a moderator on another site for several years, until I felt forced to resign in protest at what it had become. It started out with some genuinely informative and often hilarious threads, but in the end it degenerated into a haven for thuggish right wingers. Not only that, they seemed to actively encourage tasteless posts that I thought set a terrible example to the many youngsters who must have thought that all anglers had that kind of mindset, also becoming an absolute gift to all the antis. No doubt someone will copy this post and put it on there so that they can all have a good laugh about it.

Sometimes a clean up has to be done before it's too late.
