About right!

Agree with most of it but I don't think I smell too bad and can scrub up reasonably well given a bit of effort.

That's because you haven't been very successful in your quest to catch lots of bream!

Kick a man when he's down why don't you? I've agonised for several seconds over my lack of snot catching ability.

Best session numbers wise was 11 tench and even more missed bites right under the rod tip

I had a shoal of barbel sneak out of the water and start feeding out of my maggot box !! :punk::lol:

That's really interesting. What kind of weedless lure? Are we talking about a jig? Or I suppose a wobbled real-life smelt - I guess you can get plastic adapter things to make a rig weedless?

If anyone ever fishes Thailand, the single biggest tip for catching the red tailed catfish is to fish under your rod tip - literally 40cm from the bank.

Same goes for river pike in the UK - a weedless lure fished inches from the bank will outfish almost anything fished out in the middle.

I'm not gonna say I don't believe it......

When I used to fish for margin-feeding carp, on one occasion I decided to take a break and to pour myself a coffee.

I stopped fishing, put down my rod with dog biscuit attached, so that the biscuit was lying on the bank, about two inches from the water, (it was a very cramped swim with little room) Turned away to pour the coffee, and the next thing I knew there was my rod being dragged down the bank by a carp that had taken the biscuit ! It was not a small fish either. Here is a pic from my archives

Hi John.

Don't bother with those hollow silicone frogs, the hookup rate with pike is appalling because the teeth penetrate the lure and prevent a hookset. The Heddon Moss Boss is the best option that I've fished. It will fish across the surface completely weedlessly but can be stopped and allowed to sink into any gaps in the weeds.

A spinnerbait worked just a bit further out is also well worth trying.
