Forgetful ?

I went fishing overnight last night and almost forgot my stove, remembered it at the end of the road and turned around to collect it. Unbeknown to me though I'd also forgotten my sleeping bag :( Thankfully I do have an old one that lives in the bottom of my rucksack but it was a bit musty, not having been out for about 3 years !

It reminds of the time I went fishing elsewhere at the start of the season and forgot all my bait. I had to do a 150 mile round trip to go home and collect it.

I also forgot the front of my bivvy (umbrella) for a week long session in France - thankfully the weather was fairly kind to me.

So what have you forgotten before ?

Rob.

Forgot me bite alarms once, and there was no way of getting them either as i had been droped off, now this would have not been a problem but the pool i was fishing comes to life at night and fishes very slow through the day. Needless to say i caught very little.

It was the fish i tell you, they were talking to me !!!

I hate it whenever i forget anything, I do mainly Match fishing so most of my bits and bobs are in my tackle box. Last time i went i fogot my scissors, floats and even my licence of all things, luckily the baliff knows i have a licence and never asks.

Before i got my rodbag for ready built rods i forgot a reel and had to use 2. Ive forgotten my PVA bags.

The list goes on.

I usually leave alot of my cooking things, once i forgot my gas canisters so had no warm food to eat. Or ive forgotten my spoon when ive took soem custard or curry. Or on some occasiomns ive left my Tin opener and over half my tins need a tin opener to get into them :wallbash:

i have it sewn up now ,separate boxes and rod bags for carp ,float and sea fishing with just i extra rod in each .a float rod in the carp a carp rod in the float and a spinning rod in the sea with a small box of things in the boxes for the "just in case" extra rods.

so you just grab the rod bag and box for whatever your doing and your away.

it doesent just extend to fishing ,we have 3 complete camping setups incase we take a different tent ,3 cookers etc etc  at least the trailer tent holds one lot ,one other set is in the shed with the other tent and another in the loft only two gas cylinders though but there big enough not to be forgotten (yet).

the keys for the gates are on each set of car keys and another on the bike keyring ,i'v forgotten to take them in the past as well

How about forgetting your rod? Yep! I've done it (and before anyone comments about dizzy females, no, I'm not blonde!)

I don't drive, so it's public transport for me. The night before a fishing trip, I get my bag ready with bait, tackle, drinks, lunch etc, using a checklist so that I don't forget anything and can get a quick start in the morning.

On this particular occasion I carefully packed everything, and placed my rod by the door so that I couldn't miss it. Oh yeah. Right......

Two hours later I arrived and started to tackle up, but there seemed to be something missing...

Dozy cow!

forgot rods more than once through the coarse of a seasion I will generally forget to tak a rod (not all of them) around twice and have forgotten to take any rods twice in my life now Ive done this cos I tend to use small cars and packing for a weeks fishing somewhere requires a liitle thouht when packing the car so rods are always separate from holdalls quivers etc and are the last thing in the car always remembered before ive got to the venue though lol

Not an item of tackle, but a look at the calender. Got to the venue and wondered why I was the only one there. First day of the close season was on the notice at the gate. And I had booked a day's holiday as well. Felt a bit sheepish returning home at 06:00 to wake her up to explain !!!!

not while fishing but after my last time out, I decided to dip some bollies for use the next time I went,

well that was on the 1st April, not been since, went out to the shed to get the mower out to do the grass, found the wife had put something in the shed, knocked my bag over, I forgot to put the lid on properly, so when I picked the bag up. soaked in half a bottle of fusion dip well soaked in, just finished cleaning the bag, I hope, a bit of a expensive mess, and still smell the dip on my hands even after a good wash.
