Why is there not such a thing as a imaginary enemy?

Or is that a nightmare in laymans terms?

Apparently i had a imaginary friend and i was told i called it Lucas?

Now that is not a million miles away from Lucifer no wonder i got chucked out of sunday school!

There is he is called Satan. When I had a motorbikes I always used to replace the Lucas original headlights with Cibié kit.

Lucas, Lord of Darkness ;-)

I don't know how well you know the Bible but there is nary a reference to Hell in the Old Testament. It's not until Gentle Jesus meek and mild comes along that you get stories about being cast into pits of everlasting flame for having the audacity to think for yourself.

I never went to Sunday School, nor did some tosser in a suit try to drown me when I was an infant. We did have a school visit from a Church of Scotland minister (they could get away with stuff like that in 1960s Scotland) when I was about eight or nine years old. He told us all the Adam and Eve story. When he had finished recounting the tale he asked us if we had any questions. I stuck my hand up and asked him whhat God did on the eight day. His riposte was "He made Hell for little boys like you that ask too many questions".

I do like the OT. It has so many charming little verses. This is one of my favourites, from Dueteronomy 23:1 "He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.” I wonder when they stopped that one. Can you imagine the local Vicar having a quick grope at every bloke on Sunday mornings as he welcomes them into his Church.

It always reminds me of Crockodile Dundee.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

1. Wouldn't have happened. Groups that baptize infants either sprinkle a bit of water or a few drops of oil on the head.

2. Wouldn't have worked. A reflex called the bradycardic response makes babies hold their breath and open their eyes when submerged in water.

1) Submerged, three times.

2) Drowned.

I reckon this is the oil they use.

You don't think people should have the right to vote?

Perhaps after the age of fifty ,unfortunately most wars we partake in for little point unless upsetting the natives is the point is the result of people voting in people able to do it

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

Much as I enjoy bashing he deluded, back on topic.

What a choice the Americans have made for themselves.

A lying crook or a lying sociopath.

Either one is likely to be bad for America.

Trump is probably worst for he world.

What change an independent at this stage?

Every time a major issue is "decided" by a vote, the losers maintain the winners either fiddled the vote/ did not understand the issues/ were misled in some way cannot be trusted to make a rational decision, etc etc.

Hell hath no fury like a "believer in democracy" who has just lost a vote.

I think that for Republicans who voted Trump in as the primary winner, the reaction afterwards might have quite a bit in common with the reaction of many Brits who voted in favour of Brexit .

But I've never me anyone who regrets voting to leave the EU - Quite the reverse, the frustration at the governments failure to get on with it is palpable.

Republicans by contrast appear to be distancing themselves from Trump in droves.

He does have his fanatical fans though.
