Just watched Ian Duncan smith on channel 4 news bragging that the pound is over valued and it doesn't matter that the man in street is going to pay extra a hell of a lot more for food heating etc this man is dirt clompletly out of touch a horrible man ..

You've got to be kidding me. Grammar schools will be a huge vote winner - May just needs to deal with the issue of the 11 plus exam and make sure that it reflects the national curriculum so that it makes the new schools a meritocracy rather than an exclusive club for those that can afford private tutors.

You will remember that it was that great Socialist Tony Benn who oversaw the demise of the Grammar Schools. He, of course, had a private education.

His son Hillary (of course) went to private primary and prep schools and then went to a comprehensive. But not any comprehensive. Holland Park school was the best and most exclusive comprehensive school in the country at the time. Tony Benn has to spend a million or two on a flat in the area to qualify for his kids to go there (all four of them) There were quite a few children of top socialists attending at the time. The school became known as the socialist Eton.

Rank (and money) has always has it's privileges and people are naturally hypocrites. It just seems worse somehow when the perpetrators are pious, holier than thou socialists who are quite happy to tell everyone else how to live their lives but somehow don't believe it should apply to them.

no I don't agree, labour co done down the education of a generation by getting rid of a system that rewarded bright kids and dragged all down to the lowest denominator apart from the double standard hypocrites. Was jessa your leader one? Don't do as I do, do as I say.
