NHS is critical

unfortunately his hands are tied b c, it's all very well saying he's going to do this and do that. The reality is blair and brown have already done it, brown sold the gold at a record low, he ring fenced 1% of nicc payment for the nhs, although there is talk of doing the same this week. don't forget the stolen 5 billion per year out of the private pension funds, what can corbychops do? pfi? your grand kids are already in hock with that one.

A snippet from chesters link tells it all:

A case in point is Britains biggest health trust, Barts Health NHS Trust in London, which was placed in special measures last month. It is £93m in debt struggling under the weight of a 43-year PFI contract under which it will pay back more than £7bn on contracts valued at a fraction of that sum (£1.1bn).

Barry Osborn doubled our national debt austerity failed stop reading the mail it's bad for you .

Lost our AAA rating more expensive to borrow money good ain't it we can go on and on the bottom line the NHS is in trouble .

Like I said, saves thinking.

None of this is about the NHS, just political point scoring as usual.

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Maybe the Doctors needed slagging?

It isn't just what is spent but do you get value for money. 133 billion last year.

The fact is that the NHS does not deliver care that is as good as it could be or should be.

You get excellent health care in France as Britain spends less per head than many other comparable nations isn't funding probably a major issue here surgeons doctors nurses front line staff are they all saying the same thing are they all stupid the NHS isn't 100 % perfect but it is a life saver for many who would argue to the hilt free health is a very precious thing you don't realise till it's your turn for those who slag it off there is millions who argue the opposite .

Beds seem to be the problem cancer operations being cancelled but hey come on who created this problem .

The short term problem is lack of beds. It happens to one degree or another at this time every year. There are many reasons for it but chucking more money at it short term isn't magically going to produce more bed space.

Longer term problems may well include lack of funding but will also include poor management, poor planning, poor training, recruitment and retention problems and an outdated system that fails to meet the needs of its users on many occasions.

BTW, your "FREE" healthcare costs a billion pounds every three days. I would love to know how much of that reaches actual patient care.

In France the population is happy to spend more on their healthcare to get the service they want. Do you think that would be the case in the UK. You're self employed. Would you be happy to pay significantly more in NI contributions?
