Taking some personal responsibly by not allowing yourself to go blind?

I have narrowly missed getting run down by electric cars a couple of times ,they do make a noise but here in the country you can hear them in a town theres no chance.
Giving them a noise seems silly but growing up in the pre 'digital' world i like my camera to make a noise telling me its taken a picture lol.
Not sure what noise will become mandatory but i bet loud exhausts from v8's will be top of the list from those that rarely use their dick any more ,you know the old guys that ride harlies when the sun shines not the hardy types that ride honda 90's in the snow lol

About 20 came through the village yesterday ,where are they in january ?where are all the tourists cluttering the place up and speaking loudly in foreign tongues when its winter time? Bloody noisy people! Now noisy quiet cars you couldnt make it up!

Perhaps you could change the track on the noise maker so it just repeats "Out of the way thilly" in a camp voice....

Nothing new. Trolley buses were introduced to Glasgow in 1949. They were electric and made almost no noise. Trolley buses were nicknamed "silent death". A law was passed that they had to make a noise. You really are like a wee bairn Ken, always chucking your toys out the pram or spitting out your dummy just because YOU don't like something. I got news for ya buddy. It is not all about YOU.

Deaf people like my mother need auditory clues to navigate their built environment, did you not think about them before you posted? Perhaps we should get rid of the beeps on pedestriab crossings too?

Good one. I'd never have thought of using an auditory warning for deaf people. Perhaps we can have the new electric vehicles fitted with a mandatory sticker on the bumper to warn blind people of their approach too....

Not sure how well they'll work when people are unable to hear because they're playing loud music through headphones or fail to see because they're looking at a screen, but yo9u never know.

Anecdotal evidence as a cyclists seems to suggest that no amount of bells, high viz or flashing lights is sufficient to stop morons from walking into the road without thinking. Perhaps evolution can come up with a better solution than regulation.

Unot all zebra crossings make noises ,the blind person uses the spinning knob to know when to cross!a deaf person uses the green man or lights

In my near misses walking in the road is mandatory or swinging from the tree tops ,footpaths dont exist on most of my way to the bus stop.
Uusing the countryside code is a foolish thing to do in some cases ,meeting speeding cars especially electric ones on a blind bend is a death wish so you cross over and walk on the "wrong" side until its safe to cross back.As your walking with your back to traffic on your side then all you have is your ears to keep you alive ,in the country you have a chance of hearing an electric car (luckily i have good hearing) stepping off a path in a town would be unadvisable as you wouldnt hear an electric car over the din of town life!
If your putting sounds on electric cars go further and put them on bicycles i have more close calls with them than electric cars and they invade footpaths aswell!

Anecdotal evidence suggests that a man died and came back to life three days later and that miracles occur. The plural of anecdotes is not data.

I'm glad that legislation concerning sound made by electric vehicles is such a big concern for you. Many people have much more pressing concerns to occupy their time.

Did it never occur to you that you have had surgery to cure evolutionary weakneeses in your eyes? In the "wild" you would be reliant on others to feed you because you would not be a very effective hunter.
