Ive heard this ginger thing works, also a little pill called drememine (i think). I would advise standing in the centre of the deck fixing your eyes on a point on the horizon. Long deep breaths and all should be fine. The best way to stay seasick free in my opinion is to stay in the pub :)

Best regards

Well done Jim, I was just about to post the same advice.

I would say always look at the horizon and keep on deck and active if possible. The only time I have ever felt sick was at the side of a Pier trying to fix something in the bilges. Don't do what a lot of people do on our ferries and that is to lay down and try and sleep.

Make sure your stomach isn't empty - only time I started to feel ill was when I became quite hungry but was too busy to eat. Skipper told me to fill my stomach, which I did & instantly felt better ...

4 cups of sweet tea, get on the boat, puke your ring, and then you will be ok.

Or pop a fishermans friend :P

Cheers

Over the last god knows how many years I've tried everything (except ginger!)

A pint of milk as you get on the boat.

A mouthful of brandy,

A greasy breakfast

Empty stomach

Acupressure beads.

Quells

Dramamine (made me so drowsy I nearly fell in as I was chucking up). :(:(

The only time I didn't get sick was when the outboard on a small dinghy wouldn't start and the tide was racing out. Shows how a bit of adrenaline concentrates the mind!!

As a consequence of this, and as discretion is the better part of valour, I've gone back to coarse fishing. No trouble so far. :):P
