They might not care about petitions, but to a man (and to a Blairbabe) they are control freaks.

An opportunity to ban something is too good to be missed - so what if they ban beachfishing, cite the petition as "public opinion" and have a soundbite/photoshoot spree, saying " There - we listened"

...as I said earlier, be careful what you wish for.....

Somehow i think they just might need to get a few thousand more signitures before the alarm bells start ringing, however with the comedians getting in on the act i think this petition ain't long for this world.

fwiw I don't blame spongebob signing as i bet he is concerned with all those lead weight missiles dropping in on his head.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Well I have to say, the anglers public image isn't good. When you hear of anglers casting at boats just because they are 'in the way' or swimmers because they are 'in the way, you can understand the reasoning behind banning beach angling.

Other water users have every right to be there, it's the anglers duty to take care and not endanger anyone using the water.

Then you see the piles of rubbish , dangerous rubbish sometimes, left on the beaches and piers, it reinforces the point.

Dog owners are banned on some beaches, so why not anglers for the same reason?

I was in West Bay Bridport a few weeks ago, and took a stroll along the harbour pier one night. About 7 anglers were fishing, the next morning I went back, only to find all their rubbish, newspaper used to hold the lug, bits of dirty rag, food wrappers and drink bottles.

if I were in charge of the pier, I would ban angling for sure.

Until anglers clean up their act and behave more responsibly, they are in danger of being banned.

As an angler myself, I am ashamed of the way some behave, and feel uncomfortable sometimes to be included amongst them when I'm fishing a public beach, and people glare at me, and probably assume I behave in the same way.

Littering isn't exclusively an angler's vice. There's enough coastline for everyone to share, though I've seen windsurfers and jetskiers get close to my lines when they've had literally miles of empty beach to use. Bit of give and take from everyone required.

Not all bad news, this one does have some effect. Two years ago i was fishing off berry head devon and was disgusted with the amount of rubbish, this year it was spotless and the anglers down there often have voluntary meets to keep it so.
