  1. get on it mate, been getting back on the lures myself, been fishing them around my deads too, still cant catch on teh damn things had one fish come off on a shad last night, and one followed a jerkbait n turned away! araaargh!
  2. cheers, only bit of fun tho, been hard since xmas, started being one take days most of the time. boozel get on it mate, switch ya lead over to a large 2oz blockend feeder, headoff the herring chop it up use a stick to push it all down in to teh feeder, pukka rig!
  3. here she is.... removed background due to recognisable features
  4. might be grouped up short of that area mate? fish i had was a repeat,an old friend i know from teh last 2 years! she has a big blackspot on her back n thats her nickname grown by 2 1/2 pound over two years.
  5. hertfordshire river today i had a 12.5 on float-feedered half herring. also small jack to one of my mates, and two to me other mate, best 6-7ish. all on deads.
  6. Thats what we like to see, puts some adults attitudes/handling skils to shame, big up the yoot!
  7. past april, i too use lures only, except when zedding where i mainly use lives,i catch pike but normally at night when temps are much lower dont use deads in warm weather, pike pick em up and wolf em down in high temps, its not worth it surface lures are more fun!!
  8. i fish a river, its not particuarly pressured, most of teh fish come out on lives, infact there are alot of days you lure fish ya heart out for one take, sma ewith deads you might get one take. put a liv'o out and bang,it will go off, again and again think our record is about 8 or 9 fish one after teh other all on lives up to about 8lb,it is liek this most days, take lives you will catch without its a struggle. but all my bigger fish(doubles) have come to big sea deads none to a livebait ,a 1lb+ chub might get one!,but then a jack will hit it first know doubt!
  9. like slodger i too have had debates on this one a few times!! i use whats known as(to me anyway!) a dave horton trace, i have the top treble fixed, leaving a gap of around 5 inches or so i have teh bottom treble sliding, held in place by a trebel hook cover(fox) or silcone. below this i have a bead, the solid sea fishing type, dont know diameter but their big beads! i like to use bright colours red /orange/ yellow, anyway pass teh wire through the bead twice and crimp or twist as normal. this trace has uses ,when using difrent sized lives and deads its is perfect also good for rigging pat baits vertical,i like teh convinence of using a sliding treble but it can ponly slide so far as its stopped by the upper hook, when i have used it it hasnt never got up to teh top hook always hooking up well below or sometimes not at all upper is hooked up.as to the slider coiling teh trace....carboflex mate! doesnt coil up n lasts for more than one fish love the stuff! i do use fixed trebles mainly for big deads, cant explain why tho?

  16. this is how i see it..... a young muslim walking round london dressed as a suicide bomber....are you ****ing mad!!! after 7/7 you would think that he would think twice about doing that, real bombs or not. no he didnt, why? beciuase in this stupid politicly correct country he probably knew he would get away with it,personally if i had seen him that day i would have lamped him one regardless of the consiquences. behead those who insult islam read one placard, well im sorry but if muslims in iraq can show non-muslims being videoed n beheaded then whats the fuss about a few cartoons?? nick the bastard and his mate and make an example of them. or shall i go to pakistan and delcare all those that insult christians should be beheaded...i would last all of 2 mins....get what im saying!
  17. i see, prefer brushes my self, brush or eraser, its a little better than a path as you can alter the hardness of the brush, for a soft cut out(hair for example) or for a harder cutout, like a car ,your edges look quite soft, the top pic the crosser, that might took a little difrent with a slightly harder/sharper edge. i been doing it 9 years around 4 on a mac. i would have a play and post something my self but i dont have it at home enough during the week!! must say tho some of the things that can be done are unreal!
  18. me too steve, but i do it for a living!! are you using a brush or a path for the cut out?
  19. try it tommorrow www.totalcoarsefishing.com hope no on minds me putting a link to another forum on here....i love ya both!
  20. looks a bit cold that top one! jeepster you lucky sod, never seen deer in the flesh before, luxury of living in london-not!
  21. most if not all forms of float fishing, i like to see a pike float go under as much as i like to see a stick float go under,i do like trotting, continually working the float, finding out little things make a diffrence, like holding back the float often picks me up better sized fish,i often get carried away catching me self a few baits!float fishing the margins with a peacock waggler for carp and tench too, then theres drifting for pike, again working the float and bait along. chubber floats with big breadflake baits underneath...i could go on and on! topwater lures are brilliant i agree with newt on that, very exciting method, love using rubber frogs n weedless lures over lilys n cabbge beds in summer. i also have a healthy fetish for clear floats!
  22. ah i see thought so light coloured fish often indicate a coloured venue,i was going to ask teh wieght but why not have a guess....i rekon between 13-16lb! definetly loks liek a mid double, quite long.
